A- Pours a dark brown hue with a frothy 2 finger, off white head.
S- Smell is coffee interlaced with bourbon.
T- Has a very chocolatey backbone that leads into huge coffee and cream notes.
M- Extemely creamy, decadent, the perfect amount of carbonation (low). This has been sitting in the cellar for about a year and I am convinced it has the absolute perfect mouthfeel.
D- This was a great desert beer. I dont know if i could have more than one but the chocolatey notes and perfect mouthfeel made me want to revisit it.

I got this bottle in a trade with joe1510. Thanks Joe!
This pours a very dark brown bordering on black with about and inch of tan foam. It poured on the thick side so the mouthfeel is probably going to follow suit and feel yummy. There's some nice lacing and the foam, though it shrinks a bit pretty quickly, stays to the last drop as a fine solid layer.
The smell is tres nice. Lots of dark and milk chocolate with a fruity nose and a pretty big dose of bourbon and even more so, coffee.
The taste has the chocolates, has the bourbon, has the fruitiness, has some vanilla kicking in, has the coffee(duh), and man. this is tasting really great! Some alcohol is there and it warms the throat and tummy after the swallow but I'm sipping on it *really* slow so there's no problem there.
Mouthfeel *is* thick and creamy and I'm loving it. Nice low carbonation and it finishes with a fresh brewed coffee flavour that has some good lasting power. It's pretty darned drinkable whatever its abv is and I *know* it has to be up there..I'd guess between 8% & 9& abv, maybe more.
Ok, I looked at some of the reviews and the overall rating for this brew and I'm certainly not going to argue about the high accolades it is getting. This is an amazing brew! Thanks again, Joe, for sending this one my way! Carlisle (865) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 27, 2016
Draft in Lake Mills, WI. Dark brown color with light tan head. Roasted coffee aroma. Roasted coffee flavor. Much better that most coffee brews.

How crazy is it to find an 8-year-old bottle of Devil Over a Barrel in the back of the beer cellar? (Bottled on 09APR08) Not a lot of pop when removing the cap (duh!) but still a respectable head when poured (though it dissipated quickly). Coffee and vanilla are both very pronounced in the aroma initially. After sitting for a bit, the aroma also has charred wood and dark chocolate. A little flat carbonation but body still has respectable weight and the texture is silky smooth. Nicely sweet over the tongue and on the finish. Will have to get a new bottle to accurately update the rating because, really, normal people aren’t going to let this intentionally sit for 8 years. SPDickerman (1315) - Texas, USA - MAY 25, 2015
Pours pitch black with a small brown head. Smells of coffee and vanilla. Taste is coffee bitterness, hints of chocolate, rounded sweetness. Full-bodied with a smooth texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Tyranena Devil Over A Barrel finishes with a lingering sweetness. umich03jm (3512) - Flat Rock, Michigan, USA - APR 3, 2015
Bottle thanks to motortoddhead. Dark brown pour with a small ring of head. Aroma is ultra fresh coffee beans, toasted oak, light bourbon, light coconut, and light chocolate. Tastes like a nice mix of bourbon and coffee beans. Very oaky, lots of vanilla, some light dusty cocoa, some light maple too. Smooth and little creamy. Medium to full body. Very good BB imperial porter.

Dark beer with reddish hues when held against the light. Very little of a brown wisp for a head. Enticing aroma of coffee, bourbon and vanilla. None of the added flavors here overpower this beer. Very well balanced roasted grains, bitter coffee, vanilla, oak and bourbon alcohol with a long bitter finish. Another well crafted beer from Tyranena. 12 ounce bottle from AWISLguy. Pours a red-brown with a thin fizzy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of roasted malt, wood, coffee, vanilla, whiskey, dark fruit. Medium bodied, mild lingering roast. jdb288 (584) - Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA - DEC 4, 2014
Bottle. Pours charcoal black with no head. Lots of coffee and a bit of dark chocolate in the nose. Taste is the same with a nice "chewiness" from the oatmeal. Thick, rich and great on a cold night. fraternie (1030) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 24, 2014
Creamy body of roasted caramel and coffee malt flavors, gaining depth from subtle bourbon underneath. Smooth, long finish, with subtle hops lingering and adding complexity to the rich malt.
