Bottle courtesy of Ughsmash. Pours brown with a thin tan head. Smells of brandy, oak, earthy malt, some pepper. Tastes lightly sour and oaky with some nice brandy hints. Mouthfeel is full with a tarte finish. TURDFERGUSON (4058) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - SEP 15, 2007
Bottle from footbalm. Thanks. Drank on the eve of my last day at CellzDIrect. Pours a reddish brown with a small-bubbled off white head that fades fast but leaves a ring of lace and steady carbonation up the side of my delirium tremens snifter. Nose is sweet and nutty, soms oak and cadied brandy too. Flavor is surprisingly smooth yet very one-demensional and not as complex as the nose suggested. Alcohol noted in the finish but not in the flavor. SoLan (1550) - Florida, USA - SEP 21, 2007
Dark amber/brown. Small, fluffy, tan cap. Aroma of roast, oak, dark fruit, subtle smoke, nougat, brandy, alcohol, subtle spice (cinnamon/nutmeg). Very nice nose. Flavor lacks comparable complexity- basic sweet brown ale with some molasses, a little oak, and a little alcohol. Full/medium body, smooth. Great idea, but a big let down after the aroma. Aroma is a sweet scent. Color is a deep ruby with light carbonation and thin tight head. Taste is rich and sweet. Starting with a medium body and a rich sweet malt flavor that is a lot like a Barley Wine. Very tasty. sliffy (2040) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - OCT 11, 2007

Bottle, courtesy after4ever. Pours clear brown with ruby highlights and a lacy off-white head. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar molasses. Medium body. Taste plays to my sweet tooth, with a slice of bread to put all the sugar on. OldGrowth (3474) - the Containment Area, North Carolina, USA - APR 9, 2007
bottle, from trader with JCapriotti. Good aroma sweet, strong, borderline too much, brandy barrel. Little caramel, nuttiness in background. Little eathy as it warmed. Clean orangy brown color, small head, little to no lacing. Sweet flavor, Pretty much all barrel, little maple molasses comes out. Again barrel overwhelms any other flavor. Medium body, smooth oily mouthfeel, Kind of flat, bitterdry finish. Maybe I’m tired of the barrel, but I didn’t find any of the "Brown" in this, mainly the brandy barrel. howie (549) - DeForest, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 11, 2007
Nice looking, striking bourbon-vanilla aromas. Fruity and sweet. Creeping into barleywine-land. Alcohol burn. Too much bourbon for me. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - JUL 1, 2007
(12oz bottle, thanks chris_o) Small tan head atop lightly hazed copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, brandy, caramel, some stewed peach. Taste is moderately sweet, caramel, some brandy, light bitterness. Medium-full body, some stickiness. Ungstrup (38248) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - APR 20, 2008
