A Belgian-Style IPA. The Bitter Woman journeyed to Belgium and returned with a certain je ne sais quoi. A spicy belgian yeast and specialty caramel malts add a whole new dimension of sophistication and style to our favorite Old Lass. Enjoy the Bitter Woman Belgian Style!

From the bottle, pours a translucent pale red with a lasting white foamy head. Sweet and fruity aroma with notes of melon and floral hops. Taste is initially bitter with floral and drassy hops dominating, followed by melon-fruit and flower petals, finishing bitter again and a little dry. Some yeasty flavors appear in subsequent swigs, lightly spicy, light but undoubtedly a quality beer. Definitley worth a sampling.

12 oz twist off bottle (when you switchin to pry off Tyranena?) Apparently it is a spin off of Bitter Woman. It is the Summer Seasonal for 2010. Pours a nice deep amber/orange with a passionfruit skin tint. The head is small even with a vigorous pour. It recedes with some decent lacing. The smell is big and Belgian. No sign of hops in here. I wish there was more hops here. Instead it is pure Belgian yeast. It is sweet, carmally, fruity, and clovey, but not hoppy, disappointment there. The hops appear more in the flavor with a slight bitterness but the yeast is all over this. Tons of clove, tons of fruit (banana), tons of sweetness, and tons of caramel malt. Mostly just like drinking bittersweet yeast. Overall it is rather meek for the style that usually brings a decent amount of hops in addition to a nice yeast presence, this one is a bit one dimensional. Thanks John P Foxy .. . Pours a dark tawny tan .. good foam, lacing is in living color .. . light bitterness with that light fun belgian yeast- a great example of a belgian IPA .. . mild yet assertive- a switch hitter that bats like a steroided baseball person (yes, all pro baseball people are on steroids and/or have shruckin testicles) .. . SWAN!

Bottle. Clear dark orange pour, good head, lasting carbonation and a light (but very floral) hops and nice orange notes. Flavor is creamy herbal hops, white pepper and mellow subtle citrus throughout. Another very good offering from Tyranena.

Pours a cloudy light reddish amber, with one finger frothy white head. Decent lacing. Smell is of orange, grapefruit, pineapple, and yeast; a little bit musty. Tastes of bubblegum, citrus fruits, and a little bit of caramel maltiness. Light body, moderate carbonation, with a dry finish.

Bottle at the Funky 6. Pours clear, amber-gold with a moderate, white head. Nice fruits and hops in the aroma with yeasty notes. Fairly sweet with some orange citrus, malts, light caramel and decent bitterness. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Dries out a bit in the finish with some crisp yeast notes and lingering citrus peel bitters. Nice beer.

Sample shared by JaBier. Sweet aroma with some belgian notes (spicy, slight banana). Flavor is on the sweet side with notes of caramel and medium bitterness. Some nice yeast characteristics as well.
