The Dan Journal #405. Tasted 9/21/10. 12oz bottle. Filtered with a dark golden hue. Spotty off-white head. Aromas of perfumy and floral yeasts. Medium to full bodied with a big bitterness mixed with the Belgian spicy yeast character. Medium malt roast and a subtle spiciness. Tangy and bitter grapefruit nuance. Dry finish. Quite nice! daknole (11048) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - SEP 19, 2010
Amber with a white head. Yeast, apples, earthy hops and some alcohol in the nose. Flavor starts yeasty and fruity. Finishes with some light bitterness. Very nice. sthlm (790) - Blank, Alabama, USA - SEP 17, 2010
[Bottle] Pours deep amber with a small beige head. Aroma is pear, banana, and light citrus. Taste is spicy yeast, subtle underlying malt, alcohol as it warms (but generally well hidden), and a lot of pear again. Good mouthfeel, smooth, average length, dry finish. I had nearly given up on "Belgian IPAs," but this is one of the first that has done it well. Everything blends together beautifully, no off-flavors or anything out of place, and it is super smooth and easy to drink. Well done, Tyranena. islay (3115) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - SEP 16, 2010
12 oz. bottle, consumed on 9-11-10. Labeled as Tyranena La Femme Amére Wisconsin Belgique-Style India Pale Ale. Pours a sparkling, bright gold to light copper with many bubbles and a small amount of cream-colored head. Good lacing. Nice, Belgianesque aroma combined with a hoppy dryness. Orange, cinnamon, cardamom, coriander, lemon, and pumpkin scents. Very appetizing smell. Much dryer flavor than the aroma suggests. Belgian yeast and spices come mostly in the form of hints in the taste. Citrus that is hard to peg: Is it from the Belgian or the IPA parentage? Orange and grapefruit. Also white grape juice. Long, dry finish and aftertaste. Light to medium body. Soft, fluffy, and frothy in the palate. Cornfield (5569) - Oak Forest, Illinois, USA - SEP 13, 2010
Bottle from the Orland Park, IL, Binny’s: This poured a light amber body with a modest head. The aroma had some citrus pulp, a touch of floral, and zest over a light toffee. The flavor relected the nose faithfully and added a solid zesty bitterness. Tingly mouthfeel. Pretty decent.

bottle shared by maxxdaddy. Pours a copper body with thinning head low carbonation. Aroma is bubblegum phenolics, belgiean yeast, dough, mint, earth, and hay. Flavor is minty with some iced tea dull slightly stale malts, toffee, cookie doughy and bubblegum with light grassy phenolic hop zest- harsh bitter in the end with some cardamon pepper, and cinamon - leather and astringent as well. Dark gold color with a medium head. Bready, yeasty aroma with lots of fresh and green hops. Quite floral. Mildly soapy and some spiciness that I’d compare to a tripel’s yeast. Grainy and bready flavor. Strong bitterness. Some caramel. Dry finish. patrick767 (4474) - fort wayne, Indiana, USA - SEP 9, 2010
bottle - Pours clear copper with a small, white head. It smells of citrus hops and spicy yeast. That hops and the Belgian yeast are both well represented in the flavor. I also got a slight hint of funk. It’s a good but not great beer that finishes very dry. Styles (2016) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - AUG 26, 2010
Courtesy of northernbrews. Dark golden amber, minimal head. Aroma has decent yeast character up front, spicy/herbal hops. Flavor much the same, bit muddled. Really not getting any Belgian character. Block (3222) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - AUG 18, 2010
Gold to amber pour with a hits head. Fruity aroma with a great hop finish. Nice belgian flavor throughout with a medium body. Fairly complex, ver good.
