Tobacco, and a good deal of it on the nose, toffee, earth, a hint of peat I am picking up. Pours brownish amber with thin ring of foam. 12 oz. thanks alex! pours a hazy dark amber with caramel edges. no head or lace. big sweet caramel, fig, raisin, and toffee nose. sticky thick flat body. caramel, toffee, figs, and raisins on the mid palate. mild caramel and toast finish. This poured a murky lighter brown color with a beige head. Aroma was a sticky sweet malts, toffee, caramel and alcohol. Flavor was a strong bite of alcohol, very sweet and not very much else to make it complex.

I got this in a trade with someone from Wisconsin and I was actually excited to give this one a try. I poured it into my snifter and let it sit for a moment. The color was a nice orange-brown with no head. The taste was awful! I tasted a very phenolic, medicinal taste reminiscent of band-aids. this one was a total drain pour for me. I wonder if it went bad somehow?

Bottle shared by BrianK, some time ago. Pours a mahogany body with a thin off white head. Salty malt tones, of etoh latent fruits and apple tones. Caramel warming, with some lighter coco and chocolate notes. A modest warming. Good BW.

Bottle with a big thanks to mcbackus- thanks Matt! Pours a murky pond water brown with practically no head. Aroma is toffee, brown sugar, maple syrup, dark fruits, rum cake, cherry, sherry. Flavor is toffee, bread, sherry, earth, and booze. mouthfeel is oily and sticky with low carbonation. A big tasty beer. Aroma is pretty nice. Bottle pours hazy red color with off white head. Color seems to be a bit lighter for the style. Aroma is caramel and malt. Viscous mouthfeel. Flavor is dark fruit, caramel, slight alcohol. Oxidation is setting in. Not bad, but not great either.
