Paid $4.00 for a 6 oz. half pint at Hopleaf. Color is hard to see in poor lighting but it looks typical, with thin bubbly tan head. Nose is milk chocolate, roasted barley and caramelized sugar. The flavor is rather nice with the aroma reflecting the taste with the addition of small amounts of espresso beans and vanilla hints. Body displays some creaminess in texture yet, also has a thin watery element. Still after completing the half pint I realized that it was still rather nice to drink with good flavors.

Pours dark brown with tan head. Nose is of chocolate, ashy malt, nuts and a bit of pepper. Taste is a medium to light body chocolate, roasty malt taste with some pepper as well. Not bad.

Pour is dark brown/black with a thinnish tan head. Nose is bitter almost sour. Very yeasty. Some hints of burnt coffee and dark bitter chocolate. Taste is more pleasant than nose. Nice roasted malt flavor with dry burnt coffee mouthfeel. Glass has nice lacing as I drink. Okay but glad it was part of a build your own sixer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Rather impressive porter, with a dark, nutty robustness that steals the show. Pours a dark, almost oily brown to black, with a great profile and aroma. Nice one for sure.

Poured from a 12 ounce bottle. Pours a dark brown with a light beige head. The aroma has burnt coconut and chocolate. Taste is bittersweet chocolate with a nice toasty note. Thicker mouthfeel. Nice beer.

Pours a dark ebony with frothy voluminous tan head. Aroma is dominated by strong dark roasted malt and a bit of chocolate notes. The taste is a great blend of bitter and sweet notes. An easy finish makes for a very delicious session able porter

Pours black with a two finger sized, tan head. Had aromas of roasted coffee, vanilla, licorice, and a bit of milk chocolate. Pretty sweet going down, with a mild hop bite on the end. Roasty aftertaste, and was not as smooth as 5.4% would indicate. Pretty good porter at a decent price.
