Strong flavour, chocolatish, I got the licorice, darke w/ bite! I would take another but not Tyranena’s best!
Roasty smooth and creamy. slightly musty, nice medium body and palate. Bittersweet throughout. Well-balanced. Quite nice jgb9348 (6266) - Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA - SEP 10, 2016
Rich deep dark brown coloured body with a nice thinnish tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, light prunes and raisins and a bit of coffee. Medium-bodied; Assertive roasted malt flavours with some coffee, malt, earth, caramelised sugars and a bit of hops noticeable near the end. Aftertaste shows some milk, cream and lactose, but this is all about the roasted malt, and in a good way. Overall, a nice robust porter with no real bad flavours or qualities. Not amazing, but a good beer that’s worth trying, especially on a cold day. I sampled this pint on draught at the Map Room in Chicago, Illinois on 14-November-2015 for US$5,00 for sixteen ounces. markducommun (1117) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 13, 2016
Very opaque, black. Light tan head. Slight coffee notes, roasted grain, light molasses. Lightly bittered, rounder sweetness. Reasonably heavy body, quite chewy, light acidity. Quite good.

12 ounce bottle. Really nice chocolate nose. Roast. Chocolate. Cocoa power. Medium body. Nice. edwardbass (838) - Illinois, USA - DEC 29, 2015
Lots of coffee and chocolate aroma. Super-dark brown with a tan head. Taste is typical porter, coffee, dark chocolate, roasty grain. The palate is too thin, though not egregiously so. It’s a decent porter, but not a standout.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Pours pitch black color with red highlights in the light with a small tan head. The aroma is roasted malt and coffee with a little chocolate. The taste is roasted malt with coffee. An outstanding porter. Aggiebob (1134) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - NOV 27, 2015
Bottle. Black with virtually a non-existent tan head. Coffee and chocolate aroma. It has a sweet taste. starewich (170) - - NOV 4, 2015
Typical porter flavor except for a tang like red wine. Okay but not great, and too watery for my taste. thegreenrooster (4402) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - AUG 19, 2015
Pour is a black with a medium tan head. Aroma is a nice mix of coffee and chocolate malts. Flavor is again a nice coffee and chocolate with a pretty decent bitter char left on the tongue. This is a pretty solid porter. Plenty of nice roasted malt flavor with just the right amount of char and bitterness. marcus (10227) - Sacramento, California, USA - AUG 12, 2015
On tap at Map Room. Pours near black with a thick tan head and a chocolate and treacle aroma. There is a medium-bodied bitter chocolate flavor with a dry slightly bitter finish. Lots of flavor.
