UPDATED: JAN 26, 2016 On tap, poured into a bullet. The aromas have a burnt quality to it, containing a combination of coffee and bread crust, with just a touch of squash / pumpkin underneath, and a hint of pie spice. It pours a motor oil brown-black, opaque, with a beige head retaining a medium thin ring and an decent amount of dense, soap lace. The taste is a medium / medium-high bitter and medium sweet. The full bodied beer is rich and malty with a fuzzy carbonation and chewy texture. Coffee and bread crust flavors strike the palate first, followed by sweet dark fruit and a light pumpkin / vegetable character. A mild pumpkin spice comes through with a burnt character at the finish and some caramel lingers with a light, roasted coffee note in the aftertaste.
