12oz bottle pours auburn with off white head aroma of vanilla and booze, had a carmelcorn and alcohol taste.

Bottle - then pour is slightly cloudy and a dark reddish orange color. The head is thick and orange sickle in color. The aroma is malts, yeast and a little bread. The taste is caramel, malts, light hops. Overall this is a great fireside sipping beer. Nice malty character, brightened with hops to make a good overall balanced brown beer.

Dark brown with hint of orange through the light. Smaller beige head of small bubbles. Light brown sugar and oaken whiskey aromas. Thiker oily feel. Toasted malt with toffee and bourbon sweetness start. Mild oak and hops through the middle. Finish is lightly acidic with mild earth, oak and whiskey. Some time would likely mellow and settle the sweetness

Poured this ale from the bottle into a standard pint glass. The pour produced a hazy, dark amber body topped with a thick head of beige foam, with good retention. A nutty, sweet aroma, which promises the sweet maltiness of the brew itself. A full mouthfeel with a slight metallic finish (though it could be hops asserting itself at the end.), with some alcohol notes at the end. I’m finding the hops to be a little more assertive than what I would like, especially since the malts in the front give the promise of sweetness. I think there is some complexity here, where you have a bait and switch going on with the malts and hops, promising a sweeter profile then popping with with the bitterness of the hops. Also, having a portion aged in barrels gives me the impression that I should be getting some notes of wood in the aroma, which I really didn’t pick up (perhaps it was too cold).

A very good choice for the bourbon aged lovers at a price that won’t drain your wallet.

Pours a brown color with a caramel malt aroma. Taste is caramel, with a light malt flavor. Easy drinking with little complexity. The aged bourbon is missing.

Shared at the StlBrews meeting from 12oz can into a nonic half-pint glass. It poured a clear reddish brown colour with persistent beige foam and lace. Extremely malty sticky-sweet, toasty and nutty, not nearly attenuated enough yet somehow still way too boozy. Really unpleasant hot fusel alcohols, plus some funky sourness. Wood, vanilla, bourbon. Lactose sugar, maybe? No matter, I can’t believe this was how they meant it turn out.

Bottled. Nice brown, rich pour. White head. Body is cloudy, featuring a little caramel in the nose, but not that sweet. Flavor is a mild toasted caramel malt.

Pours a clear but dark brown color with khaki colored head. Roasted malts, oak, vanilla, some light whiskey notes, and a little caramel on the nose; follows onto the palate. Medium to full bodied. Finishes with roast and caramel woody sweetness.

Bottle at Hilton Chophouse, MKE. Nice wood aroma. Dark brown color. Adequate head. Wood flavor was pretty good, not too much. Med body. Overall, a nice interesting beer.
