On tap at Howells & Hood (Chicago, IL). Brown hazy body with a thin off-white foamy head. Well balanced malty/hoppy aroma with woody, brown sugar and vineous hints. Good malty/hoppy taste with oaky, grainy, fruity, and cocoa notes. I was expecting stronger bourbon flavors. Ends with a decent bittersweet finish. 12 oz bottle from De Bierkoning @ home. Twist off cap exploded from the bottle as I twisted it off, hitting a glass out of my spectacles, luckily I was wearing them or I would have missed an eye. Not gushing though. Deep red-brown color, clear. Big uneven beige head with good retention, sticking to the glass. Aroma’s of bourbon, vanilla, red fruits, light wood, sweet malts. Retronasal it’s sweet, red fruits, some bourbon/vanilla. Flavor is moderate to full sweet, vanilla. Light to medium bodied. A bit high carbo. Finishes with a bit of roasted malts, just hints of bitterness. Imo bourbon usually goes better with the higher strength beers, this was actually well done and went down well as a dessert. Bottle. Brown with large tan pillowy head. Aroma roasted malt, vanilla, and brown sugar. Medium body, brown sugar, low hop bitterness, roasted malt, a hint of bourbon. Not much hop presence for an american brown but I liked the subtleness of the bourbon. Sask89 (514) - Regina, Saskatchewan, CANADA - APR 30, 2015
On tap at Hopleaf. Pours a dark brown colour with a frothier tan head, quite cloudy. Slight roasted malt aroma, a little nutty with some slight caramel sweetness. Taste is somewhat sweet and malty, slightly dry as well. Medium body, soft carbonation, and smooth on the palate. Overall a decent brown ale. Steve_0 (3745) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 19, 2015

Caramel, smoke, toffee, vanilla finish. Not much bourbon flavor. Brown sugar. Bitter. Dfonorow (2216) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 16, 2015
Bottle. Pour is light brown with a medium white head. Aroma and flavor of light caramel, light brown sugar, toasted malt, milk chocolate, and slight bourbon. Finish is thin with a hint of vanilla. RRistow12 (866) - Lewis Center, Ohio, USA - JAN 11, 2015
Tasted from bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with off white head that quickly fades. Not much lacing. Faint aroma of caramel and toffee maybe a little bourbon. Taste is moderate sweet with mild bitterness. Toffee, caramel, biscuits, maple and a faint bourbon taste. Definitely not as much bourbon as I expected. Pretty good for a brown ale. Definitely sessionable beer with pretty good flavor.
