Picked up single 12-oz bottle from Cellars Wine & Spirits in St Paul, Minnesota. Pours a clear dark copper amber brew with a heavy off-white head that slowly dissipates to a thin film and white ring. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus and grapefruit zest, a touch of black pepper and some grassy hops. Taste is medium bodied, light carbonated with a mostly citrus and pine bitterness with a hint of caramel malt. Finish has a sharp dry bitterness that slowly disappears. fiver29 (1036) - Cleveland, Ohio, USA - JUL 31, 2008
On tap pours a dark golden color with off white head. Has a nice hop aroma with mostly pine coming to mind. Mouthfeel was medium body. Has a nice flavor profile. Is 2 dimensional with some citrus and pine flavors shining through together to make this a solid IPA. Overall a nice brew. mistersinalin (381) - St. Paul, Minnesota, USA - JUL 30, 2008
UPDATED: AUG 6, 2008 Great balance of hop and a hint of citrus. This beer goes really well with a sweet Asian dish. IlanMan (1015) - Appleton, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 26, 2008
Pour was dark golden with a thick and creamy off white head. Aroma was of fresh hops and some pale malt. Flavors were well blended making this a very easy to drink hoppy brew. I didn’t get an overwhelming amount of hops but just the right amount. Also no up front ups. Everything was again blended well. Would buy again. hellbilly (3249) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - JUL 26, 2008
bottle from monger and the mystery swaps... clear coppery color with a medium sized whitish head. enticing juicy fruity aroma... grapefruit, orange, caramel, light pine, grass and some peppery spice. a bit on the sweeter side of my palate. citrus-y flavors and not bitter enough... caramel, grapefruit, orange zest, cinnamon/earthy spice and a mildly bitter finish. medium body. prickly high carbonation settles down and gets a bit creamy as it warms.

(12 oz. Bottle courtesy of Headbanger) Aroma is a big fresh hop scent with a little pepper tone. Color is a deep golden with good carbonation and a nice head. Taste is citrusy and hoppy. Starting with a medium / light body that goes down smooth. Finish comes in with some malt then big citrus and hop flavor that is backed by a mild bitterness. After taste leaves you with a hop flavor and a little bitterness. A nice IPA but a little too citrus for me. valpoaj (744) - Valparaiso, Indiana, USA - JUL 25, 2008
Pours reddish copper with a decent off-white head that leaves considerable lacing. Aroma is robust...hoppy and is dominated by orange and other citrus accents...very pleasant! Hops hit up early on the palate and hang on...definitely some bitter orange accents come into play mid-drink, but there’s a nice mix of citrus and some piney hops throughout. Not a lot of malt accents to balance things, and it does turn pretty bitter and leaves a very bitter aftertaste. Slightly thin on the palate as well for what I was expecting. I would have liked a bit more sweetness in here to offset things, but it was a pretty good drink nevertheless. heemer77 (5357) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUL 23, 2008
Thanks for the beer, iowaherkeye. Pours with a pretty dark amber to copper body. A light khaki head on top. The aroma has some rich notes of oranges and caramel. A nice floral character throughout. The taste has some bitter orange peels and burnt bread crust. A little too bitter and unbalanced for me. JCB (3999) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUL 22, 2008
12oz bottle from tytoanderso - thanks, Santa! Copper pour with a vibrant, champagne-like carbonation rather than the fluffy head I was expecting. Sweet aroma reminded me of one of the old Push-Ups I used to get from the ice cream man. A bit of bitters in the taste, and a very slick mouthfeel, add up to a nice delivery system for this well hopped and sweetly satisfying IPA. Fresh keg, just tapped.
Cast in a bronze/amber hue, big, creamy white head.
Mellow aromatics, floral, citric hops, very even and cool.
On the tongue, here’s the first spank of hops, the citric/pine tickle, lingering on the palate, then slowly fading off. Bright orange flavor peeks in just a bit. Hops and orange flavor keep trickling in, but it’s never too much. Tastes a lot like Bitter Woman, but juicier, moister, ...lacks dryness, but that’s what makes it unique.
Very tasty, very drinkable. Yum.
