I'm not one to make a professionally written review, so I'll keep this simple. I admit I bought this initially because of the name, but I've always been a Scotch Ale fan. This is one of the best, richest beers I've ever had. Great mouthfeel and a fantastic taste across the board. Rich, chocolately and a nice caramel finish, this beer is going to be a staple in my fridge for the foreseeable future.

Thanks to mar for sharing this bottle. Orange-brown with a white head. Aroma is caramel, toffee and peat malt. Flavor is peat malt, toffee and caramel. Fairly sweet. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. jmcgavin12 (492) - Madison, USA - APR 4, 2013
Pours a medium amber with some lacy white head. Aroma is malty with lots of caramel. Not too much roasted notes though. Taste is sweet with a crisp bitter finish. Overall very balanced and can’t really taste the alcohol. I really enjoyed this beer after a hard night. jjgmd (2248) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - APR 1, 2013
A rich mahogany brown color with a small head. Nose is malty and sweet with hints of chocolate. Taste is full of malt and chocolate, with the alcohol well hidden. Carbonation is soft and texture is heavy. Finish is sweet and malty. Nice scotch ale. Quaff Score 8 / 10 zgaier (1962) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - APR 1, 2013
Pours a muddy brown with a small off white head and aroma of toasty malt and caramel. Taste is of toasted malt, caramel, fruit notes, and chocolate with a dry, medium finish. Very drinkable for a scotch ale and nice flavors

Aroma is roasted malts, a hint of smoke and very strong brown bread. The flavor is brown bread, fruit, a hint of smoke and tangy/mildly sour finish. JPDurden24 (1675) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - MAR 18, 2013
From the bottle, peaty malt aroma with some nice caramel malts in the flavor and a damn good taste. A big fan of this scotch ale. emacgee (4705) - Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA - MAR 18, 2013
Pours a thick and murky soft brown with a thin sandy yellow tan had. Bready/buiscuity malts in the nose, herbal and earthy malts. Earthy and vinous malt notes in the flavor. Raisiny bready. Coffee. Muddled and weird. Coffee-ish sweetness on the finish. Full bodied with a slight carbonation. shrubber85 (11618) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - MAR 2, 2013
Bottle. Light cherry, caramel malt, and alcohol aroma. Hazy orange-brown with small head. Sweet caramel malt and mildly bitter herbal hops flavor. Nice body. Solid, tasty beer. Coolhandbrew (13) - Wisconsin, USA - FEB 9, 2013
Love this beer. Very malty and enjoyable. Good color, aroma, and palate. I hope my scotch ale that I’m brewing turns out as good.
