Clear medium amber brown color with virtually none head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, dark berry, raisin, rprune, date, light alcoholic. Flavor is heavy sweet with a long to average duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic.
33 cL bottle at the brewpub. Pours golden amber and hazy with a lacing tan head. Berry citric aroma, quite inviting. Full bodied. Flavour is mild citric to berry fruity with a mild acidic touch. Dry wooden barrel note. Finish is a mix of barrel and berry fruity flavours with notes of overripe fruit. Solid, smooth and nice. Ungstrup (38941) - Citizen of the universe, DENMARK - JUL 22, 2007
Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a thin tan head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of over ripe fruits and caramel. The flavor is a bit oxidized with strong notes of over ripe fruits and caramel on a very sweet back ground. Thanks to Theis. oh6gdx (26485) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUL 2, 2008
Bottled. Amber colour, mediumsized beige head. Aroma is leather, some chocolate and sweet malts. Flavour is very sweet plummy malts along with mild chocolate, spices and also the alcohol, which fits this beer perfect. Raisins in the finish. As it warms up also some notes of honey become evident. omhper (25953) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - OCT 20, 2008
Bottled. Nut brown, minimal head. Caramelly nose with vinous port-like notes and tart lingonberries. Sweetish and woody. Vastly malty with compact mouthfeel. Vinous, fruity and intense with a freshening woody acidity. More reminiscent to an English old ale than any lager in the world.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours a slightly hazy reddish amber with a small off-white head. Rather sophisticated aroma of burned caramel, overripe fruit and oxidized sherry accents. Quite full-bodied, low in carbonation, burned caramel and overripe fruit. Rather subdued bitterness with a vague underlying tartness. 291108 Rasmus40 (22133) - Beder, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUN 11, 2014
Bottle @ Aarhus tasting. Hazy reddish brown with a small beige head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, dark fruit, light wood and light alcohol. Flavor is very sweet and moderate bitter. Very sweet finish with warming alcohol. Oily. 110614 Koelschtrinker (22074) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAY 4, 2011
14/10/8/9/12/9

Murky brown color, no head. Leathery aroma, old Barley Wine, Old Ale; chestnut honey. Oily mouthfeel, deep malt flavor, the leathery acidity and light cherry flavor add multiple dimensions; sweet, warm.
Bottle, pours a murky orange amber with a small off-white head. Nose is super infected and oxidized - lots of vinegar and acetic notes. Flavour is along the same lines - tastes more like an acetic, vinegary sour beer. Not a disaster but not very pleasant. Meh.
