500ml on-tap in Fischerstube brewpub, Basel, Switzerland (6.80 CHF):
This one was quite a nice, easy going dunkel that was a major step up from the only other Swiss beer that I’ve tried to date (Feldschlössen Original) & the fact there was actually some flavour to this one was definitely a plus. There was plenty of sweetness throughout but it didn’t seem overdone & the balance was quite good with some pleasant bitterness towards the end as well.

Tap at Fischerstube. The dark version of the Lager Hell it seems. A bit less dusty and much more beautiful. Another good beer for its style.

100ml draught at the brewpub. Patchy beige head to a clear, amber-brown coloured body. Smell of dark bread and nuts. Mixed taste profile of caramel malts and dark fruits, slightly roasted. Bittersweet endnotes. Medium bodied. Just alright, worked well with our food (Basel 27.07.2014).

Tap @ Fischerstube. Clear dark reddish brown, reasonable head. Spicy soapy malt aroma. Bitter nutty fruit flavour. Bitter aftertaste. Decent brown ale.

Pawola22 (3262) - Woodridge, Illinois, USA - MAY 28, 2013
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a lightly hazed, brown colored body with an inch thick, frothy, tan head that dissipates slowly and leaves a moderate lacing. Aroma is nutty and toasty with a light sweetness, some DMS, raisins, and a light bread. Flavor is similar. Slightly nutty and toasty with a bit of a roast note, some raisin-bread, DMS, and grains. Finishes clean and somewhat dry before leaving a medium length aftertaste. Light body and a moderate carbonation. Overall, a decent dunkel. A slight off-flavor note with the DMS, but not bad.
