COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Uerige Alt is Germany’s richest bitter beer. Nevertheless (or even for that reason), this legendary old-fashioned beer is so full-bodied and aromatic. Our top-class specialty has been brewed since 1862 from water, barley malt, caramel malt, roasted malt, clusters of hops - and with our very special Uerige yeast. Our Uerige Alt is regularly selected among the ten best beers in Germany. It has an alcohol content of 4.7% and a minimum freshness of eight weeks.

Bottle 0.5L. Clear amber-to-copper body with an average, frothy, white head, mostly diminishing with some lacing, though: very low density of tiny bubbles. Moderate hoppy (herbal) and malty (caramel, toasted) aroma with light notes of licorice(?). Moderate-to-heavy bitter flavour with light sweet notes; long-lasting bitter and dry finish. Light-to-medium body with watery texture; average carbonation; light metallic feeling in the finish.

Fra fad. En god humlet øl, der overrasker ved at have en stærk gærsmag. Smagte dog lidt for meget af diacetyl

Banana esters in the nose, followed by the typical central European hops I always think of as "stony". Quite bitter with a dry finish. The beer really grows on you. A bit like a British bitter, or perhaps De Koninck. Far superior to any Kolsch.

leaparsons (10554) - Wigston, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 8, 2017
Bottle, The Offie, Leicester. Golden brown with an off white head. Nutty rye bread and toffee malts with light raisins. Lemon with black tea. Spicy bitter finish. Tasty alt.

LazyPyro (1214) - Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUL 4, 2017
0.33l bottle. Clear dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma: malty, caramel, dried fruits, light hops. Taste: same as the aroma, sweet dried fruits and caramel, toffee, finish is bitter. Medium bodied, soft carbonation. Not bad.

MrTipple (4968) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 2, 2017
Grain and cereal malts, rye bread, dark, lightly toasted malts, biscuit, caramel. Clear, dark brown, massive, frothy, off-white head. Light bitter. More grain malts, more rye bread, biscuit, dry bitterness intensifies, medium carbonation, medium bodied. Nice Altbier, rich and well-balanced. Bottle from Utobeer, Borough.

Frisch gezapft. Klar und bernsteinfarben mit mittelgroßer Schaumkrone. Muffig. Leicht muffig. Leichter Körper. Wässrig.

Tried this one part of LCBO spring program. Bitter and dry, lack a bit of depth. Tried it, done.

Cask at the brewery. Brown with a good foamy cream head. Malty toast aroma. The taste is toast with a bitter metallic finish. Nice.
