COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Uerige DoppelSticke might just be "Germany's interpretation of a barley-wine", ie a third definition next to England's "malt-driven" idea {such as JW Lees Vintage Harvest Ale} and America's "hop-heavy" version {such as Sierra Nevada's BigFoot}. OG - 1085; IBU - 75; Ingredients; Hops:Spalt Spalter, Hallertauer Perle, Spalt Hallertauer; Malts: Pilsner malt, caramel malt, roasted malt

Draft at Rothbard. Strong smells of yeast and malt. Pours dark brown with a tan head with tiny bubbles. Huge tastes of raisins and malt with alcohol undertones. Oily mouthfeel and tons of lacing. Big character beer.

33 cl swingtop bottle. Murky brown color. Small creamy tan head. Rich complex dark fruit aroma. Flavor upfront is dark malt with notes of prunes, raisins and burnt sugar. Complex and flavorful. Smooth and oily mouthfeel. Some resiny hop bitterness in finish, though understated. Warming alcohol as well. The malt shines here. A real sipping brew that improves as it warms. Outstanding!

Bottle 33 cl. Opaque dark brown color with yellowish foam. Sweet and dense aroma: malty, caramel, dried prunes, blue plum jam, port wine or similar strong and sweet wine, esters and a light perfume note (slivovitz). Taste: very sweet, jam from blackberries, plums and raspberries, caramel, dried fruits, a drop of slivovitz, bitter finish. Very good.

Scopey (15474) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 18, 2017
Bottle from Utobeer. It pours dark brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is rich, malt - driven, sticky, oily, molasses, soft aniseed nuance, dried fruit, fruit cake, toasty, burnt toffee and wood. The taste is drying, rich, chewy, oily, slick, molasses, dried fruits, jam, earthy, wood, bark, tannin, stewed black tea, bit of spice, toasty and warming alcohol through the finish. Pretty drying and chewy stuff after a while. Has nice aspects to it, but it is a bit heavy duty.

0,33 l Bügelflasche. Rotbraunes Bier, cremefarbener Schaum, akzeptable Gardine.

33cl bottle. Hazy brown with a small tan head. Caramel, molasses, prunes, raisins and nuts. Delicious.
