COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Uerige DoppelSticke might just be "Germany's interpretation of a barley-wine", ie a third definition next to England's "malt-driven" idea {such as JW Lees Vintage Harvest Ale} and America's "hop-heavy" version {such as Sierra Nevada's BigFoot}. OG - 1085; IBU - 75; Ingredients; Hops:Spalt Spalter, Hallertauer Perle, Spalt Hallertauer; Malts: Pilsner malt, caramel malt, roasted malt

Strong caramelly aroma. The taste is also very caramelly. Some raisins and plums in the taste also. A little to much carbonation. Quite sweet but not overly to sweet. A german barley wine.

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2017 Many thanks for this rare Altbier to Mariusz. Bottled on 02/2006. Almost 12 years old Altbier. Fantastyczny i nieco inny i swietnie zaskakujacy Alt z Dusseldorfu. Fantastyczny efekt. Wyglad to rudo bordowa barwa. Majstersztyk. Bardzo polecam do lezakowania. Raz jeszcze dziekuje Mariuszowi za zdobycie tego piwa (to bylo pare lat temu, a moze i wieki). Pozdrawiam

Ciemne piwo koloru mocnej herbaty, piana kremowa dość obfita, szybko opada. Aromat głównie słodowy, trochę karmelu, rodzynek, goździków. W smaku podobnie głównie nuty słodowe, karmel, ciemne owoce, finisz wytrawny.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2017 Bottle. Dark mahagony/amber with a huge head and lots of lacing. Aroma of malts, soy sauce, hops, nuts and some fruitiness. Taste is malts, liquorice, dried dark fruits, cough syrup and soy sauce. Spicy, slightly sweet but more on the bitter side. Medium carbonation. Robust mouthfeel. Alcoholic warmth and a little bit boozy. Nice.

Draft at Rothbard. Strong smells of yeast and malt. Pours dark brown with a tan head with tiny bubbles. Huge tastes of raisins and malt with alcohol undertones. Oily mouthfeel and tons of lacing. Big character beer.

33 cl swingtop bottle. Murky brown color. Small creamy tan head. Rich complex dark fruit aroma. Flavor upfront is dark malt with notes of prunes, raisins and burnt sugar. Complex and flavorful. Smooth and oily mouthfeel. Some resiny hop bitterness in finish, though understated. Warming alcohol as well. The malt shines here. A real sipping brew that improves as it warms. Outstanding!

Bottle 33 cl. Opaque dark brown color with yellowish foam. Sweet and dense aroma: malty, caramel, dried prunes, blue plum jam, port wine or similar strong and sweet wine, esters and a light perfume note (slivovitz). Taste: very sweet, jam from blackberries, plums and raspberries, caramel, dried fruits, a drop of slivovitz, bitter finish. Very good.
