Bottle at home. Pours deep orange brown, nose is earthy, pine, toffee, taste is sweet, chewy, light fruit, stick toffee. BrewWhatIWant (323) - Ontario, CANADA - MAR 19, 2017
Pours light reddish-brown with a thin offwhite head. Aroma is hoppy. Taste is bitter with a touch of sweetness. There are notes of earthy hops up front along with a bit of nutty malt and red fruit and musty yeast. Body is light with medium-low carbonation. It’s a bit like an extra hoppy English bitter with some continental yeastiness. Very interesting! CraftBeerNick (2974) - London Town, Greater London, ENGLAND - FEB 24, 2017
Bottle at home, 24th February 17. Pours brown, aroma is slight sour, hops, cararmel, malt. Taste is malt, caramel, some slight sour, hops. Pretty tasty. waldbraeu (17) - - FEB 24, 2017
quite light-colored head, dark brown color, clear, fruity hop-aromas, tastes like a mix of a modern pale ale and the regular altbier-style, also some fruity yeast-flavors i can make out. not my taste. my bottle says alc. 6,0% vol ebone1988 (2232) - Dearborn, Michigan, USA - FEB 13, 2017
Aroma is caramel, earthy hops, malt, bready, bitter, slightly metallic. Appearance is brownish red, off white to light tan head, somewhat hazy. Taste is bitter, malt, bready, earthy hops, not as much caramel as I expected, definitely more bitter than sweet. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light crisp carbonation, bitter malt and earthy hop aftertaste. Overall, this is good but I prefer the Doppel Sticke.

Bottle. Orangey Amber. Very malty (buttery, caramelly). Roasty (burnt sugar). Sour fruit (berries). Earthy, woody flavours. Sweetish leading to dry bittering hop finish. (2008)

Wood and maple syrup aroma. Hazy brown, thin tan head. Wood and maple syrup, caramel. Medium body, easy carbonation. BeardedAvenger (1266) - Addlestone, Surrey, ENGLAND - JAN 18, 2017
Bottle at home. From Wine Rack, West Byfleet. Caramel/grassy aroma but low on the dial. Dark amber, verging on opaque. Creamy if thin off-white head. Light bitter. Develops a citric sourness. Medium bodied. Soft. Carbonation. Dry finish, with a touch of the astringent. Less going on than the standard Alt I just had, but perhaps best described as more refined. A more balanced taste and I prefer the palate. There’s even some warmth in finish from the additional ABV. Schlumpfhunter (235) - Bavaria, GERMANY - JAN 6, 2017
