COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Carnival comes but once a year - and you can only enjoy Sticke beer at Uerige twice a year. It contains more malt and hops and has a higher alcoholic content than normal Altbier. And our guests appreciate it! In earlier days it used to be whispered hand over mouth that Uerige was serving Sticke again because the master brewer had portioned the ingredients too generously. With today’s fully-automated operation, this could not happen. So Sticke beer is brewed intentionally - and this certainly doesn’t negatively effect either its quality or taste.

The two dates every year are always the same. The third Tuesday in January and October are the two Sticke days.

MiP (15650) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - AUG 9, 2016
Bottle, 6.0%. Malty aroma, syrupy and slightly fruity. Hazy dark brown colour. Small creamy white head. The flavour is malty with a weak caramelly note and a slightly spicy hoppiness. A little watery for the ABV, and also a thin mouthfeel.

Sampled from bottle @ RBBWG. Slightly hazy red color with a small off-white head. Smell and taste malts, some alcohol, lightly grains. Not my beer.

Bottle (swing-top) at home. Clear dark brown - white head. High malty, grassy, chocolate, fruity notes, light thin body, begining to get bad... but still drinkable. Very simple.

11.2 oz. bottle; 02.11.?? Malty caramel aroma with a hint of hop. Ruby apricot color with a beige head. A bit thin. Moderate carbonation. The flavor is gritty caramel, with some notes of coffee. The finish is fairly dry, and the bitter is noticeable, but not heavy. Intriguing.

DSG (14685) - Tel Aviv, ISRAEL - NOV 26, 2008
Bottle. Dark brown color with deep red hues and a very bubbly medium-sized head. Aroma of toasted malt, nuts, fruits, light floral hints and some slightly herbal hops. Sweetish malty flavor with some toasted bread, caramel, nuts (including some chestnut notes) and a bitter herbal finish with faint earthy notes. Medium-bodied. A good quaffable beer, I hope I’ll get to try some more Stickes in the future.

Lubiere (13796) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 10, 2004
Red copper beer with almost no carbonation or head. But the aroma! Nice hops come out, which is surprising for a german brew. Taste is very complex wih a nice malty start and a lingering german hops finish, but everything is there very subtely. This is like the fine beer, very "racée" yet very fresh. Not bored at all...a big big thanks for the MaibockAddict himself .
