Red copper beer with almost no carbonation or head. But the aroma! Nice hops come out, which is surprising for a german brew. Taste is very complex wih a nice malty start and a lingering german hops finish, but everything is there very subtely. This is like the fine beer, very "racée" yet very fresh. Not bored at all...a big big thanks for the MaibockAddict himself . argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - MAY 2, 2004
Medium beige head atop a clear copper body. Aroma is light sweet, caramel, light grassy/herbal. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, some fruity, some alcohol evident, finishing herbal/earthy. Medium body. Very drinkable. Drake (14078) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 21, 2008
Bottle from Once Upon a Vine North in Richmond. Clear brown pour with a medium head and good lacing. Very strong grain aroma with a hint of bitterness. Big grain taste w/ dark fruit notes, nuttiness, and big bitterness. crossovert (13914) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - FEB 9, 2011
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2014 Had it on tap, it had a slight funkiness (probably he line) but i was soo delicious, huge herbal noble hop notes and a medium bitterness. Soo tasty. Wanna go to the source now.
Bottle fresh is hoppy, lots of woodiness, herbs, spices, nuttiness, very nice. Christian (13823) - Odense, DENMARK - JUN 4, 2013
RB Odense Early Summer Fun. Copper with a small white head. Rich malty aroma with biscuit and bread, dried fruit and tropical sweet fruit. Malty and fruity flavour with a yeasty hint, herbal hops and a quite bitter finish. A bit thin for what the aroma is promising

Tap. Pours clear dark amber with a medium, creamy off-white head, long retention with excellent lacing. Aroma is spicy, herbal and pine hops with biscuit and straw malt and a clean lager character. Flavor is heavy hops and bitterness, supporting malt and a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation. Dogbrick (13789) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - MAR 30, 2004
I've been looking for a replacement for the awesome Blimp City Akron/Macon Ale since they went out of business, and I think I have found it! The beer is a dark brown/amber with an ultra thin off-white head. Very little lacing. The aroma is nice and full, with caramel, malt and sweet fruit. Medium-bodied and very drinkable with a pleasing blend of flavors such as malt, raisin, caramel and hops. The finish is the only place it falls off a little. There is a slight metallic tinge to the fruity finish that was out of character with the beer. A slightly bigger hops finish would make it nearly perfect. As it stands though, this is one of the better Alts I have had. bierkoning (13689) - La Tropica/Doarp, NETHERLANDS - JUL 11, 2005
Bottle, best until 13.02.05. Dark amber color, small head. Vinous aroma with biscuit. Hoppy, very malty flavor. This beer has a good hop character, but that is cahllanged by the malt, the wine-like character and the biscuit and butterscotch flavors. World class beer!. Thanks Dortmunder, for providing me with this gem.

330ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Tromsdalen. Slim neck and a swing-top that gave a good shot when opened. Pours a cloudy caramel brown body topped by a rocky, beige head with fine retention and spotty lacing to the glassware. Just plain malt-driven aroma, hints of nuts and bread, mid-sweet. Well blended flavour character of earthy malts, nuts, herbal hops, and lightly hints of jam-like fruits. Malt bitterness to a prolonged ending. Fine bodied. Lovely. Had not expected this, it really came as a very pleasant surprise (Tromsø 27.03.2015). bu11zeye (13215) - Frisco (Dallas), Texas, USA - AUG 29, 2004
(Bottle) Packaged in a cool looking flip-top bottle. Pours an amber-brown with a thin white head. Aroma of caramel, sweet malts, and hops. Flavors of caramel, banana-nut bread, malts, and butterscotch. Enjoyable beer.
