Carnival comes but once a year - and you can only enjoy Sticke beer at Uerige twice a year. It contains more malt and hops and has a higher alcoholic content than normal Altbier. And our guests appreciate it! In earlier days it used to be whispered hand over mouth that Uerige was serving Sticke again because the master brewer had portioned the ingredients too generously. With today’s fully-automated operation, this could not happen. So Sticke beer is brewed intentionally - and this certainly doesn’t negatively effect either its quality or taste.

The two dates every year are always the same. The third Tuesday in January and October are the two Sticke days.

Bought bottle at the keg liqour store at $5.49/bottle. Good price for quality. Drank at 60 degrees. Poured dark amber with light amber tight nit bubbles the lingered for a long while. Strong winey taste but no killer notes. Very good beer.

33 cl ceramic swing top bottle. Pours a tawny copper brown color. Small creamy beige head. Toasted malt nose has earthy, sweet caramel notes. Interesting bittersweet caramel malt flavor upfront. Some nuttiness in middle, with a hint of rye grain. Bitter hops in finish are slightly resiny. Very good.

6.0% ABV bottle. Pours a slightly hazy deep amber colour with thin head and average carbonation. Big malt driven aromas of caramel, toffee and fruit cake with lots of raisins and other rich stewed fruits coming through. Taste is a blend of all these rich malty flavours, but still has a nice clean finish. Great with a slice of Christmas cake!

Not what I was expecting, but in a good way. Dark brown, little head and smells a little nutty. However, taste is honey, brown sugar, fruity. Really different and a great accompaniment t fruit cake. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Heavy aroma of malt with some winish notes and some dark bread with plum. Cloudy copper in the glass with a minimal head. Taste is really fruity with some notes of brown sugar, bread, toast, caramel and gentle grainy touch. Sticky, maybe little bit overwhelming, but I appreciate it.

Piwo koloru herbaty, piana dość obfita. Aromat głównie akcenty słodowe, trochę skórki od chleba, rodzynek, karmelu. W smaku podobnie, nuty słodowe, plus ciemne owoce, karmel, finisz lekko wytrawny

Bottle from Knighton Londis, Leicester. This is incredible. It has everything. Sticky, deep fruitcake malt; pudding barley hopping. Crispness, some tart snap. Germanic doppelbock authenticity. Really good. Surprising good. A suprise.

Grumpelmies (431) - GERMANY - OCT 21, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 21, 2017 Bottle. Murky brown with orange tinges and a big head. Aroma of fruity and herbal hops and some caramel. Taste is caramel and toffee. Malty, fruity and bitter. Hoppy finish. Medium carbonation. A hint of booziness. It's nice and delicious but I prefer the regular version as I feel it's more balanced and satisfying.
