COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English: It’s a beer that’s been thought about for quite some time – actually since the brewers first visit to Sherbrooke Liquor in Edmonton, AB, Canada a few years back, and finally I did it – I manned up and did it! After a whole freaking day of brewing coffee for this beer I can truly say it is Craft. If not devoted to the product who in their right mind would brew hundreds of litres of coffee for a beer? The result is a big and bold smooth Porter with discrete vanilla and coffee notes.
Hops: Magnum, Nelson Sauvin Malts: Pilsner, Caramel, Rye, Oats, Chocolate, Black, Vanilla and coffee.

(Draught at St. Urho’s Pub Portteripäivät’13) The beer poured black. Its head was small and almost white. Aroma had roasted malts, coffee, vanilla and mild fruitiness. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, coffee, vanilla, sweetness, fruitiness and bitterness. Aftertaste had roastedness, vanilla and bitterness. A very balanced brew. Alcohol was well hidden.

Bottle @ home, Cellared four years. Pitch black with a medium to large mocca head. Aroma is dry roasted with vabilla, dark fruits, licorice, gentle vinous notes of plume plus fruity coffee. Milk chocolate + dark chocolate in nice combination. Smooth yet still perfectly dry roasted palate with average carbonation. Flavors of licorice, vanilla, oat, alcohol, dark chocolate and coffee. Dry overall with a crisp roasted finish. Lingering vinous plums, warming alcohol and chocolate. Has aged gracefully and will propably just get better.

Taste is medium+ sweet malt, roasted, chocolate and coffee, some vanilla, bit dark fruits, medium roasty bitterness, dryish finish, some alcohol. Medium+ bodied, average carbonation, bit creamy. Decent enough but doesn’t blow you away. (bottle, Bierhalle Deconinck, Vichte)

0,1/1€ von Hahn beim WINTER BEER DAY 2016.

Bottle at home. Aroma is intense coffee, espresso, roasted malt, chewy rye, touch of vanilla, cocoa, dark chocolate. Flavour is medium sweet and moderate roasty bitter. Body is above medium. Really delivers on the coffee, not as full as I’d expected, very tasty!
