3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Brought the 1.5L "Hans Across the Water" version to my parents for Christmas, was a big hit with every one. Big bold dark brown body with large hard to control crown....the pour took forever. Aroma was mildish but descent, roasted malts with sweet coffee, hints of vanilla........or is the beer description screwing with my mind........man did I ever take piss poor notes on this beer. Seriously I’ll have written down five times is coffee, sweet, and roasted malts....I was sober to.....kids running around every where. I did truly enjoy this beer, wish I took better notes I trust my number though.

nice one!! dchad56 (576) - - DEC 10, 2017
Bottle - dark, with small tan head. Decently strong aroma - burnt roast, chocolate. Slight ting on tongue. Strong tasting, alcohol comes through the chocolate, coffee and smoke - rather too much for my taste. TaxiDriver (1847) - Stadland, GERMANY - NOV 24, 2017
The aroma of malt, chocolate, a little bit bitter. The beige large foamy head has a normal duration, the body is black. A malty taste, sweet touch of vanilla. The finish is rather bitter with a lot of coffee. The body is strong, creamy and oily with a flat carbonation. dorain (714) - Berlin, GERMANY - OCT 26, 2017

Dark amber color with brown head. Aroma of roasted coffee, vanilla and chocolate. Taste is medium sweet with notes of coffee and cholate. Long lasting coffee finish. Some alcohol tickling in the background. Smooth to drink. Perfect porter. One of my favourites. mutz (1144) - NETHERLANDS - JUL 22, 2017

Brouwersplaats. Schenkt zwart in met een vette plakkraag. Ruikt naar mokka, koffie. Smaakt mokka, koffie, bitterzoete smaak. Flauw melkachtig ( vanille? )Beetje dun van smaak en mondgevoel in de afdronk. Kan wat pit gebruiken. Lange koffie nasmaak.
12 ounce bottle from an Irma. Bitterness in nose with some cocoa, coffee, chocolate and vanilla in taste. LLaurin (550) - Motala, SWEDEN - JUN 30, 2017
Vanilla is the thing. Nose and taste are both rich in Vanilla. Palate is long and with light bitterness. Really nice overall impression.
