Close to black with a large tan head. Semi-sweet on the nose, malty, some liquorice and bitter chocolate. Creamy and rich on the palate, taste is well balanced, although quite hoppy. Rich roasted grains and malty caramel. Body is full and carbonations is moderate. BeerSkull (1373) - SWEDEN - AUG 13, 2013
(Bottle). Aroma and taste of slightly burnt roasted malt, dark chocolate and fresh hops. Unfortunately, ends the taste with a very burnt, dry and bitter tone in which the taste of alcohol is very noticeable. This is sad, for otherwise is the beer OK. madsneergaard (75) - Aalborg, DENMARK - JUL 16, 2013
Bottle. Pitch black with a nice beige, tanned head.
Definitely some spice character from the rye in the aroma. Lots of coffee too. I think I can taste the 7.8 % ABV actually. Strange. A little chocolate and in general a very roasted and dry smelling beer. The hops are thus still present - nice.
First impression is a bitterness from the hops and the coffee. Then, a the dominant roast takes over with the rye. It’s not extremely complex, but pretty solid. I’d like some more sweeter notes from some chocolate for example.
Mouhfeel is medium and dry.
A solid, dry porter but it’s pretty one-dimensional. FatPhil (16953) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUL 15, 2013

looks great, so dark, and a tight dark tan head which looks a bit scummy later. Stodgy mashy roast aroma, sweet and a little coffee but plenty of heavy esters too. Lovely full roast in the mouth, touch of coffee, great spicy malts. Super smooth roasty palate. Finish has great hops too. Simple but very nice porter.
Tap at Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Colour is almost black with brownish white head. Aromas and flavours: Grain, chocolate, hops and malts.

On tap at Crowbar. Black with a beige head. Sweetish chocolate, some coffee notes. A bit too sweet for my taste. Hides its strength well, seems a lot lighter. mjs (7610) - Helsinki, FINLAND - JUN 25, 2013
(Keg at Pikkulintu, 20130625) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and almost white. Aroma had roasted malts, chocolate and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were roasted malts, ash, sweetness and bitterness. Aftertaste was roasty and bitter. A nice roasty porter. oh6gdx (26487) - Vasa, FINLAND - JUN 3, 2013

BF 2013. Deep brown, close to black, colour with a small beigeish brown head. Aroma is toasted and roasted malts along with some slight chocolate and mild ripe dark fruits. Flavour is chocolate, mild toasted wooden notes, some toffee, ashes and also quite big on the bitterness. Yet mellow and smooth with a good body.
100ml from tap at Ølfestival København 2013. Tiny layer at the top of a dark brown coloured body. Balancing aroma of dark fruits and dark malts. Fine blended taste of chocolate malts, coffee grounds, and dark fruits followed by a lingering, bittersweet finish. Velvety over the tongue and down the swallow. Well balanced and well bodied. One of my best at the festival (tap 1, Carlsberg, Copenhagen 24.05.2013). 20107589 (748) - randers, DENMARK - MAY 25, 2013
