COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

English. Sorachi Ace was developed for the Japanese Sapporo Breweries in the late eighties. It has a very citrussy and lemony scent and taste. When used in large quantities it may resemble dill. Truly a unique hop that resembles nothing you’ve had before. Anyways, here you have a pale ale brewed on pale malts, a slight addition of caramel malts and oats for the smoothness. Massively hopped of course.
Hops: Sorachi Ace Malts: Pilsner, Caramel

(Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm, 18 May 2012) Golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with citrus, apricots, grass and floral hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of citrus, grass, caramel, a touch of dill and fresh floral hops in a fairly dry finish. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty, refreshing and nice.

Draft. An unclear golden beer with a lazing yellowish head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of Sorachi hops, caramel, and malt, leading to a dry and bitter finish.

Vignale (3858) - Malmö, SWEDEN - MAY 14, 2012
Draught @ Ølfestival København 2012. Very typical sorachi nose and taste. Dry, crayfish broth with lots of dill, nettles, rusty nails, herbs. I guess you love or hate it. I can´t really deside.

10-MAY-2012, draft @DØE Ølfestival 2012. Hazy orange with beige head. Distinct sorachi nose with coco and perfume. Taste almost bubblegum-like. Very APA-ish with thin body. Dry and fresh. OK.

Papsoe (25062) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - MAY 11, 2012
On tap. Pours a hazy golden with an off-white head. Lovely dry Sorachi Ace aroma - although I could take even more of that! Fairly light body, very, very dry almost bordering astringent. The alphas in the SA really come out in the finish. The dryness makes this very drinkable, but - as usual - I’d personally prefer it a little sweeter. 110512

lusikka (7814) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 10, 2012
Draught @ Ølfestival København 2012.
Pours a hazy bright yellow colour with a small white head. Aroma of sweet malts, bubblegum and hay. Flavour of sweet bubblegum, plastic, hay, bitter hops and hay. Medium bodied, slick mouthfeel and high carbonation. This is a horrible hop profile.
