llucmaduell (310) - barcelona, SPAIN - JAN 19, 2018
For a long time I did not get a beer that I did not know that I was surprised so much, and so favorably! I really liked it. Spectacular, a beer that grows, just need not be very cold. A great beer !!

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2018 Caña en Cimmeria 07..01..2018. (r78) Color ámbar tostado oscuro cobrizo turbio con espuma blanca oscura. Sabores maltosos y cereales tostados con toques ligeros ahumados y especias. Caramelos tostados. Ligeros herbáceos. Cuerpo medio algo espumoso y cierta densidad fácil de beber con buena sensación alcohólica desde el principio. Bastante buena para repetir.

anstei (2746) - Zurich, SWITZERLAND - JAN 16, 2018
Bottle, courtesy of SinH4, many thanks! Pours unclear brown. Aroma is dark dried fruit, ripe fruit, syrup, apple, cinnamon. Body is heavy and sweet, yet counterbalanced by a healthy fruity acidity. Low carbonation, but not lacking. Doughy and apples indeed. Lots of sweet toasted malts, too. Bocky, and slightly boozy, in a warming way. Good.

Nische (2661) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JAN 14, 2018
Bottle from secret Santa Monstermagnet, many thanks! Deep amber with almost no head. Heavily sweet with winter apples, vanilla, caramel, sweet pastry and cinnamon. Basically liquid apfelstrudel. Works really well.

Icedwarf (1883) - Etten-Leur, NETHERLANDS - JAN 13, 2018
Zwart bier zonder schuim.

Scopey (16274) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - JAN 12, 2018
Bottle at LKS - thanks to the Ken. It pours deep brown with a decent off-white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, tangy, juicy, apple strudel, fruit cake, caramel, bready, nougat and a touch of spice. The taste is soft, sweet, oily, heavy sweetness, sugary, candied dried fruits, wood, fruit cake, vanilla and apple pie. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Sits a bit heavy perhaps. Not bad overall.

humpah (381) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - JAN 12, 2018
On tap at Konttori. Pours dark brown color. Aroma of sweetness, sugar, rich maltiness, spices, syrup, bread, apple, alcohol. Rich strong and sweet taste, warming alcohol is there, full body, some bitterness. Beer worjs quite well, and is complex for a doppelbock, nice strong and sweet beer with alcohol not feeling out of place there.

3.9
Alengrin (5893) - BELGIUM - JAN 9, 2018
At Foeders in Amsterdam. Dutch double Bock guised as a decadent dessert beer, with medium thick, lacing, yellowish beige head and lightly hazy, deep and warm coppery bronze robe. Aroma of apple sauce, pastry, cinnamon, raisins, molten powder sugar, candied plums, caramel sauce, ruby port, brown bread, marmelade, sugared rhubarb. Sweet onset, apple sauce idea again in a convincing way, some banana mush and lightly sourish green pear, brown sugary sweetness draped over it all without becoming sticky or unpleasant; medium fizz, soft, full and fluffy, bit soapy mouthfeel. Sweetbread- and toffee-like malt base, sweet cinnamon rolls effect retronasally adding to the Apfelstrudel experience; light herbal hop bitterish touch, yeasty-fruity accents with some clove-ish phenols and warming, port-like alcohol in the end. This does exactly what it promises: delivering a liquid Apfelstrudel effect, but this is Uiltje, so it comes as no big surprise that the basis is still a firm, technically very well performed Doppelbock. Decadent, perhaps a tad carnavalesque even, but very well done. If you like Apfelstrudel, that is.
