12-09-2017; bottle; at home (bought at Saveur Bière, as part of their September discovery box). The looks of the beer are fine. Not to special. The color of the beer is golden yellow. It is rather pale. The beer is rather clear, but a tiny slight haziness still exists. On top of the beer a nice layer of slightly greyish foam is formed. Foam retention is average. After a while a minimal drape is left. Nice lacing is left on the glass. The smell of the beer is very nice. It is very hoppy, but some sweet malty aromas are still present. The hops are lovely. They are very rich. I smell nice fruity aromas. Citrus fruits, some stone fruit. It is nice. The hops give nice bitterness and a nice fruity sour fresh touch. There are a lot of hoppy things going on. So many, you really have to try this for yourself. I love the maltiness. The wheat makes it more gentle and soft, good one. The taste of the beer is also so lovely. Soft and delicate sweet malty flavours, with loads of hops. I clearly taste grapefruit and citrus zest. Further there are nice stone fruit flavours, a hint of lychee, very nice. Hops give both bitters as delicate sours. The beer is in very good balance. Nice. The palate of the beer is also nice. Medium body, slightly sticky and high carbonation. The finish is nice and has a good dry bitterness of the hops, but also nice fruity flavours. All in all, a very nice very hoppy Wheat Ale. Definitely worth the spot in the top 50.

Mortlach (2435) - Rome, ITALY - SEP 3, 2017
Bottle @Sam Beer (Rome). Giallo paglierino, appena torbida, schiuma bianca media molto persistente. Al naso note di frumento, pompelmo, erbaceo. In bocca è ben equilibrata e rinfrescante, bell'amaro finale, solo leggermente stantia alla lunga. Corpo medio-leggero, carbonazione media. Così così.

bonkiedeaap (784) - Leerdam, NETHERLANDS - SEP 1, 2017
Bottle from de Caigny in Essen, Belgium. The beer is hazy yellow to golden colored and has a large and stable white head, with good carbonation. The aroma is malty and very fruity, with notes of caramel, wheat malts, grass, citrus, oranges and small hints of spices. The taste is light to medium bodied with a nice hop bitterness, some sour notes from the wheat and a nice fruitiness with in the background a little spices. The finish is refreshingly dry and has a long bitter aftertaste. Very good brew!

Bottle @Sam Beer (Rome). Cloudy orange pour, gassy off-white foam. Nose: excessively grassy, pellet. Mouth is quite nice, a nice feel of continental hops. It feels like visiting a brewery. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
