Erzengel (10018) - Wuppertal, GERMANY - MAR 15, 2018
Bottle shared @ Koelschtrinker's tasting. Smooth and slightly sourish beginning with lots of wood and parts of whisky there. Sourish wood is in the foreground, the malt level is moderate, fruity sourish whisky wood on top. Strange combination with a malty and quite smooth dry beer in the back. Not well-balanced, the whisky is too woody-sour, strange.

Zlotta (4389) - Hagen, GERMANY - MAR 10, 2018
UPDATED: MAR 11, 2018 Sampled from 0.33 l bottle from 'Bierhalle Deconinck', best before February 2022. Almost clear, dark brownish amber with an off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a bit smoky aroma of caramel, dark fruits, some soy sauce and a touch of peat. Quite sweet, malty, slightly fruity and a bit smoky taste of caramel, molasses, raisins, sherry, lovage, soy sauce and some peat, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly smoky finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Quite nice but a bit unpleasant, just too much soy sauce.

Beerhunter111 (23978) - Beerland, GERMANY - MAR 10, 2018
Sampled @ Koelschtrinker Tasting. A dark brown beer with a small off-white head. Aroma of strong riped fruits, red malt, raisins, prunes. Taste of liqourice, soy sauce, strong red malt.

Koelschtrinker (22718) - Köln (Cologne), GERMANY - MAR 10, 2018
Stark malziger Beginn nach Sojasauce. Salzig säuerlich, dunkel holzig, was leider bis zum Ende vorherrscht. Langer würziger Nachhall. Ne. 10/6/7/6/8/6

Backlog. Herbs, oak, caramel, raisins, molasses, dried fruit, almost cough syrup’ish. Medium sweet, moderate bitter.

Bijl (936) - NETHERLANDS - JUN 22, 2017
Mooi spul!

Gerbeer (4298) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 19, 2017
330 ml bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with light head. Big boozy scotch aromas with brown sugar and toasted malts. Flavors follow same with additional notes of maple syrup and raisins plus a little iodine, but unfortunately the alcohol is overpowering. Maybe a sipper to pair with food or a scotch.

matbli (528) - Poznan, POLAND - JUN 8, 2017
UPDATED: JUN 8, 2017 Bottle, pours cloudy brown with fast falling head. Strong aroma of old oak wood, sherry brandy, vanilla, red fruits, figs and alcohol. In taste medium sweetness with a light sour accent and some wine’ish tartness after warming up. Alcohol is slightly burning but is not overhelming. Nice aged barley wine.

Maakun (7101) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - JUN 7, 2017
UPDATED: JUN 8, 2017 Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Almost clear nice mahogany with small off white head. Orange peel, sweet red berries, lots of yellow curry sauce with sugared citrus peel, chickpeas, soft peat, sugary malts, port wine, lots of whisky on the nose but less so in the taste. Huge sweet, under medium sour and bitter and light salty. Almost full bodied with lower carbonation. Very unusual but not bad.
