Backlog. Herbs, oak, caramel, raisins, molasses, dried fruit, almost cough syrup’ish. Medium sweet, moderate bitter.

Mooi spul!

330 ml bottle. Pours a clear dark brown with light head. Big boozy scotch aromas with brown sugar and toasted malts. Flavors follow same with additional notes of maple syrup and raisins plus a little iodine, but unfortunately the alcohol is overpowering. Maybe a sipper to pair with food or a scotch.

matbli (496) - Poznan, POLAND - JUN 8, 2017
UPDATED: JUN 8, 2017 Bottle, pours cloudy brown with fast falling head. Strong aroma of old oak wood, sherry brandy, vanilla, red fruits, figs and alcohol. In taste medium sweetness with a light sour accent and some wine’ish tartness after warming up. Alcohol is slightly burning but is not overhelming. Nice aged barley wine.

Maakun (6582) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - JUN 7, 2017
UPDATED: JUN 8, 2017 Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Almost clear nice mahogany with small off white head. Orange peel, sweet red berries, lots of yellow curry sauce with sugared citrus peel, chickpeas, soft peat, sugary malts, port wine, lots of whisky on the nose but less so in the taste. Huge sweet, under medium sour and bitter and light salty. Almost full bodied with lower carbonation. Very unusual but not bad.

sjogro (4886) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - JUN 7, 2017
Shared from bottle at puttetjes’. Dark brown with greyish tan head. Sweet and roasted barley malt. Raisans, rum, salty licorice, near balsamic, burnt pear peels. To be over specific. Big sweet and moderate salty, light bitter. Full body, strong alcoholic fist to tha face. Low carb if any at all.

MrHangover (4693) - Den Haag, NETHERLANDS - MAY 9, 2017
Bottle. Pours a clear dark brown beer with a very small and quickly disappearing beige head on top. Aroma of sweet alcohol, sugars, red fruits, vigs, hints of sherry and a hint of nailpolish. Flavor is very sweet, lots of booze, sugars, lots of oak and sweet alcohol. Very full flavored, very rich and long in sweet aftertaste. Soft carbonation, long sweet afteraste. Great beer!!!

SimplySike (1540) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - APR 30, 2017
