Pours black with a decent creamy looking head, poor head retention but good lacing. Smells sweet and roasty some caramel some chocolate and coffee. Smells delicious. Sweet and roasty taste, some roasted barley some chocolate malt. Palate is a little watery but overall a good mouth feel. This is a good one Velkyal (321) - Gordonsville, Virginia, USA - MAR 8, 2013
From the bottle this pours pitch black, crimson edged and with a good inch of light tan foam which fades pretty quickly. The aroma is a touch of spicy, chocolately, pale roasty goodness. Tastewise, chocolate comes to the fore, followed swiftly by a toasty nuttiness, almost like nutella spread on whole wheat toast. Nice smooth finish and medium bodied, lovely. alearchist (11) - Scottdale, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 25, 2013
So, i avoided this one like the plague for a while just because of the word "lager"..Until last night..finally grabbed one in a mixed sixer..very glad i did. Very nice roasted malt character especially for a 4% beer..nice hops in the background..no lager here. All in all i could drink this regularly. Nice offering! Bottle. Dark chocolate, coffee and a little smoke on the back end. Grains and a slight herbal bitterness. This one is good. Very good.

Dark roasted and burnt malt flavors. Reminiscent of Bassets liquorice. Very soft and supple schwarzbier. sloshgator (741) - Orlando, Florida, USA - MAR 3, 2014
Uinta Baba Black Lager is drinkable and sessionable. Moderate roasted aroma coming from a dark pour and a frothy head. Taste is mild chocolate and coffee notes mixed with malt with a clean finish. Baba Black has the richness of dark beers but the lightness and drinkability of a lager. Real nice! Gachupines (1252) - USA - JUN 29, 2014
Black with a thick tan head. Aroma is roasted malt with a touch of smoke. Flavor is malty with a pleasant bitterness and decent smoke flavor in the finish.

Very dark brown brew with a 2 finger head of off white foam sitting atop.
Bitter roasted malt in the smell with string hints of smoke. The bitter could be some hop character as well, I suppose.
Roasted malt, bitter hops, definite flavours of smoke that compliment. There’s some real harmony going on with this black lager.
It has a creamy mouthfeel.
Very good brew! Oscbert (1296) - Lincoln, California, USA - APR 17, 2015
Roasty chocolatey bready malt
Pours black with red hues and big fluffy lasting light brown head
Roasty malts, chocolate, light coffee. Earthy hops
Medium light bodied, with medium high CO2, roasty finish.
Great black lager. Just the right amount of roasty malts. A tad bitter, but still well balanced.
