Bottle. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla and light coffee. Flavor was roasty and thin with coffee, chocolate, vanilla, light caramel and no bourbon.

22 oz bottle served in a Belgian snifter. Pours with a dark brown body, nearly black, and limited carbonation. The thin head is soon gone leaving just a ring, but spotty lacing is left on the glass nonetheless. Appealing but simple aroma of medium and dark roasted grains with no sign of the bourbon barrel aging. This is evident in the flavor, however, which is also stronger and more smoky than the aroma suggests. Faint oak and subtle bourbon notes. Medium-full body with light carbonation.

Aroma is coffee, dark fruit and mild bourbon. The flavor is dark malts, coffee, dark fruit, chocolate and an acidic/bourbon finish. Actually a barrel aged stout not pushed too far.

Looks good. Dark brown with smooth tan head. Smells good enough...kinda generic but pleasant booze vanilla cocoa. Doesnt warm up well, though, and body and flavor are weak from the get go. Thin with a slightly off putting finish.

Bottle. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of vanilla, cinnamon and a touch of whiskey. The taste was similar to the aroma with more vanilla, cinnamon, smoke and whiskey. Not bad.

22oz bomber. Opaque black body. Quite mellow for the style. Smooth brown malt. Full bodied, but not much depth. No hop depth. OK. Bland. Minimal, mild, oily tones.

Bottle shared by a friend. Pours clear reddish brown with a thick beige head. Aroma of malt, booze and dark fruit. Malty and chocolatey flavor with caramel and slight booze before a nutty finish.

Im not sure who this would appeal to. Its just a very middle of the road stout with no real indication of barrel aging. It pours dark brown with a little bit of foam. The aroma is mild. Damn near undetectable. There just isnt anything there, you have to practically suck it up your nose to get any aroma of malt or any other character. The flavor is as meh as the aroma. I dont taste the bourbon barrel, I dont taste any secondary notes, no coffee, no licorice, no tobacco, no spice, no molasses, no chocolate, no vanilla... none of the things I have come to expect in bourbon barrel aged stouts. It doesnt taste bad, but it is as nominal as stout gets.

Very nice augmentation, the aging helps. Makes a nice sweet stout, for sipping cola color and nice frothy head.
