750mL bottle, pours an opaque dark amber orange with a very large beige / tan head. Aroma brings out loads of tropical fruity notes, medium rye, and citrus hops. Very pungent flavours, full of grapefruit, moderate rye, and pungent citrus hops. Extremely well-rounded, with pungent rye and grapefruit. Finishes dry, with a fairly harsh astringency. The alcohol is somewhat noticeable, but not detracting in any way. Fairly lively carbonation, but it is fitting. Excellent stuff. bhensonb (15966) - Woodland, California, USA - JUL 1, 2013
750 c&c from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours clear copper with a 3 finger yellowish head that attempts ring lacing. Aromas of rye spice and pine. Med + body. Flavor seems to have a lot of rye and earthy hop. Strong flavors. Fairly bitter. Very nice. The rye and malt and ABV support a lot of hop very well. Getting significant hop burn. Excellent ale.
