good lord this is superb.
Aroma pf vanilla, oak, caramel, toffee. malt. with hints of grass and resin.
Appearance is clear with a one finger head and a reddish hue.
Taste is vanillla oak , malt sweetness and a bitter backbone.
Palate is a little thick and chewy but now overly so. Perfect for the style.
Overall this is the bet barleywine I’ve had aged or not. Superb offering. Two in a row from uinta. Bravo! GreatLibations (1854) - Last Supper, Arizona, USA - MAR 11, 2010
UPDATED: FEB 24, 2011 A tall head and strong on the aroma. Fat and malty with a strong hop presence. Good effers and a creamy texture. A good sipping brew with defined whiskey essence and a long finish. dwyerpg (6076) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - OCT 17, 2010
This is really a top-notch barleywine. Lots of molasses, tons of hops, a good hop bite throughout. A great sipping beer. Lupulucid (189) - - JUN 8, 2013
Pours without much head. Orange tinged nut brown color hints at richness. Requires some time to breathe after opening. Amazing complexity and flavor perhaps a result of three year old bottle. tomekboniek (758) - Warsaw, POLAND - JUN 8, 2015
Butelka. Barwa brunatna, lekko zamglona z niewysoką lecz utrzymującą się do samego końca pianą w kolorze ecru. Wspaniały aromat beczki, wanilii, czekolady, suszony owoców. Pojawiają się również aromaty tostowe. Smak tak jak zapach intensywnie złożony. Przede wszystkim dominuje wanilia, suszone owoce, czekolada. Słodycz umiarkowana. Goryczka średnia do wysokiej niezalegająca z lekko wyczuwalnym alkoholem. Finisz długi i złożony. Wysycenie średnie, piwo pełne treściwe do długiej degustacji. Wyśmienite piwo.

My first reaction when I tried this beer, in a bourbon barrel version, was simply "Wow." It had great taste and great subtlety (for a barleywine ale) and the bonus of the bourbon barrel. Should all my beers be so powerful and profound. BeerFunGuy (875) - California, USA - JAN 19, 2013
This beer is AMAZING. It has a vanilla aroma. You really can smell the bourbon. It is a beautiful dark brown color with hints of red. The cream colored head last and sticks beautifully to the edge of the glass as if to count the number of sips you have taken. It starts off with a very strong complex flavor but isn't too heavy. For an 11% beer (sorry barley wine) it doesn't taste strongly if alcohol. It finishes cleanly with a taste of vanilla. This is one of my all time favorite can't get enough of it beers.

This is a very good barleywine. Lots of dark fruit, some plum, vanilla, and wood. The bourbon barreling is evident. Passthebeer (30) - Manassas, Virginia, USA - DEC 15, 2013
Deep ruby brown color, thick off white head, great aromas of caramel malts and bourbon. Tastes very malty, the vanilla compliments the bourbon style beer. Great beer beer_queue (140) - California, USA - FEB 11, 2017
Pours thick, dark brown with a thin tan head. Aromas of candied apples, toffee, cherries, tobacco, bourbon, & orange zest. Taste is incredibly complex with all the aromas coming thru in layers. Starts off with dark, dried fruits. Middle shows off the tobacco, maple syrup, & cloves from bourbon barrels as well as roasted malts. Ends with a floral & juicy citrus hop combo. A lot of sweet, tropical fruits in finish. Medium body with a light carbonation. Tiny bit of booze heat at the end. This is an outstanding BBA barleywine...
