COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Detour blazes the trail for fresh and bold Double IPAs. Four varieties of hops combine to step up the flavor profile. A hoppy adventure that finishes dry. Big in alcohol and character. Venture to pair with other spirited flavors such as those found in spicy ethnic foods.

Scary sweet aroma. Acrid taste. Scary sweet taste. too. Yuk, this is horrible. Sugar and hops. Ludicrous.

I’m starting to run out of beers that I have not had before. Fortunately this is a new one. It’s a so-so beer with a +-+ alcohol content.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy deep orange with a decent, white head. Aroma is conifer, caramel, slight resin. Taste is conifer, caramel, some resin, citrusy, grapefruity aftertaste. Full.

tfontana (953) - Fremont, New Hampshire, USA - DEC 16, 2016
Can pour into tulip glass from Greg & Jane’s Beer and Wine. Appearance is cloudy dark orange with lots of colored floaties, fair sparkle, finger-width off-white foamy head which fades quickly to a ring, and copious sudsy and leggy lacing. Aroma is strong tropical fruits, light pine, citrus and grapefruit. Mildly astringent. Taste is not as strong as aroma--still tropical fruits but more malt and more resin bitterness than I was expecting. Light alcohol. Palate is medium bodied with thick texture, soft-to-average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, aroma is the standout but still a decent mix of flavors. Color is beautiful; floaties are not.

Turboninja (710) - Tampere, FINLAND - DEC 16, 2016
[email protected] Medium/strong, sweet and bold aroma with slightly overaged mango. Deeper orange color with medium/small, creamy, light beige head and ultra-hazy liquid. Strong, balanced taste with a carnival of sweet, bold fruits like mango and apricot. Huge amount of hops. No malts detected. Organic with narrow taste spectrum and long fruity and hoppy aftertaste. Medium/strong body with medium carbonation. Overall, great and organic fruit bomb but too simple in its class.

Clareeses (90) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - DEC 4, 2016
Ester-y nose, pours clear amber, minimal head. Moderately carbonated, piney and grassy hops, very bitter. Solid hop-forward IPA, does not taate nearly as alcoholic as it is (9%).

3.3
mile (3932) - Helsinki, FINLAND - NOV 28, 2016
Bottle. Light amber/golden, cloudy, small to average and mostly diminishing head. Moderate, malty and sweetish aroma, some caramel and tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit/citrus hoppyness, faint alcohol. Body is medium to full, malty and sweetish flavor, some caramel and light - some tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit hoppyness/citrus hoppyness, faint alcohol. Finish is average, malty and sweetish, some caramel and light tropical fruitiness, some grapefruit - light citrus hoppyness with light alcohol. Decently hopped sweetish IIPA with caramel. Way too sweet for me.
