COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Detour blazes the trail for fresh and bold Double IPAs. Four varieties of hops combine to step up the flavor profile. A hoppy adventure that finishes dry. Big in alcohol and character. Venture to pair with other spirited flavors such as those found in spicy ethnic foods.

Definitely a double IPA living up to the imperial billing, I would say more of an imperial IPA than a double. Real rich, hops are nice, thicker than most double IPAs, if you like them thick and chunky this is for you. Pretty good but not my favorite....probably wouldn’t revisit.

Can in Seattle. Nice foam, rich darker hue of orange with a light cloudiness. Great dank resin nose. Sip is rich and resinous, old school rich dipa. Good bitterness wrapped in resin pine. Delicious.

12 ounce can. Hazy Amber orange color. Small creamy beige head. Herbal hop nose. Bittersweet toasted malt flavor upfront. Then comes the blast of big, bold hops. Piney, minty, resiny and sticky. A true lupilin overload. Pay attention and keep your eyes on the road.

Another one from Utah's finest Uinta. It has a lovely cloudy orange unfiltered look to it and the smell is a pleasant whiff of malted hops and pine. It has a lovely taste of bitter hops that warms over into a wave of malty citrus aftertaste. It hides the abv fairly well and is easy to get ahead of yourself with if you're not careful. Good for a Monday night of sandwich makin', fingernail paintin', and best show gem listenin' with your boo boo!

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2017 More malt than your average double IPA. It has good flavor and bitterness hits after the initial malt taste.

355ml can. Pours a hazy orange with a medium, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, peach, orange, grapefruit and light pine needles. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, peach, orange, grapefruit and pine needles with a dry, bitter, spicy hop finish. Medium to full body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Not bad.

Can. Pours a clear dark coppery color with a nice head and some lacing. Aroma is piney, with citrus and trace of malt. Taste of pine, citrus, bit of malt sweetness and grain. Good bitterness and finish is quite dry. Medium body, crisp, bit boozy with a nice hop feel. Not too bad.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2017 12 oz. can into chuggin'mug. bouquet of butterscotch and breakfast tea. taste of black tea with ethyl alcohol. I miss the hops and don't care for the malts. it does get you drunk, though.

I love IPAs and double IPAs are great as well, but this one is way too malty and doesn't have enough bitterness to cut through the sweetness of the malt. It's clear from the description on the can though that it's malty, so I should have known better. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
