Detour blazes the trail for fresh and bold Double IPAs. Four varieties of hops combine to step up the flavor profile. A hoppy adventure that finishes dry. Big in alcohol and character. Venture to pair with other spirited flavors such as those found in spicy ethnic foods.

Poured from the corked and caged bottle a reddish coppery color with a thick head of meringue. The nose is full-on citrus rind and juicy citrus fruit with big dose of pine resin. The taste starts with pine resin and citrus rind. Pineapple and tangerine come next transitioning into a "bit o honey" caramel maltiness. The hops and pale malt flavors carry through to a moderately bitter ending. The 9.5% alcohol is actually pretty well restrained. One of my favorite double IPAs.

Clear, dark copper color with a slightly off-white head. A lot of tropical fruit aromas (pineapple, mango, tangerine). Arrives on palate very sweetfruits and caramel up front. Finishes with mild, lingering piney/pithy bitterness. Medium body & carb; surprisingly dry aftertaste despite how sweet it arrives. Really nice DIPA that starts to borderline a barleywines sweetness & body, but it still has a lot of hops to pull it back.

Dark gold with nice head that smells of grapefruit and juniper. Taste is grapefruit, herbs, and pine with a very acidic aftertaste. Thick but still goes down easy. Really good IPA and at a decent price. So other than having to get it in the CAN this is a brew that I will be picking up again.

Bottle from Alko. Bbe 08/01/2017. The beer poured deep golden color with a thick white head. Sticky boozy at first, later woody, herbal hoppy noted in aroma. Flavor has grapefruit, pine, wood, herbs. Not very fresh. Aggressive hops, bitterness. Sweetness as well. Drinkable but heavy.
