COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Detour blazes the trail for fresh and bold Double IPAs. Four varieties of hops combine to step up the flavor profile. A hoppy adventure that finishes dry. Big in alcohol and character. Venture to pair with other spirited flavors such as those found in spicy ethnic foods.

Big bottle uncorked, cloudy orange brown ice tea like pour with heavy cream head that sticks to the glass, smells or caramel malt syrup, thick spicy taste, herbs, pine hop with a spicey bitter aftertaste, almost some lingering cinnamon, Uinta does not disappoint

UPDATED: OCT 5, 2017 More malt than your average double IPA. It has good flavor and bitterness hits after the initial malt taste.

355ml can. Pours a hazy orange with a medium, creamy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, peach, orange, grapefruit and light pine needles. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, peach, orange, grapefruit and pine needles with a dry, bitter, spicy hop finish. Medium to full body with an oily texture and soft carbonation. Not bad.

Can. Pours a clear dark coppery color with a nice head and some lacing. Aroma is piney, with citrus and trace of malt. Taste of pine, citrus, bit of malt sweetness and grain. Good bitterness and finish is quite dry. Medium body, crisp, bit boozy with a nice hop feel. Not too bad.

UPDATED: AUG 28, 2017 12 oz. can into chuggin'mug. bouquet of butterscotch and breakfast tea. taste of black tea with ethyl alcohol. I miss the hops and don't care for the malts. it does get you drunk, though.

I love IPAs and double IPAs are great as well, but this one is way too malty and doesn't have enough bitterness to cut through the sweetness of the malt. It's clear from the description on the can though that it's malty, so I should have known better. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Intense bitterness of ripe melon, grapefruit, lemon, and some nice spicing. Juicy palate, dry finish. Fine lacing and a good bitter hop character.

bulldogops (2907) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 8, 2017
Rating #2649 2016.06.28 - Bottle brought back from Utah. Pours a darker amber, with a bubbly tan head. Aroma is spicy, earthy hops, mild citrus sweetness, lots of piney, resinous notes, again subtle citrus sweetness in the flavour. Fairly balanced in terms of hop profile, and managing the ABV, this is a pretty average IIPA

Draught @ PREfunk, Boise. Pours a clear amber brown colour with a small white head. Nose is resinous piney sweet hops. Flavour is quite malty sweet with a semi grassy resinous pine hop character with a pithy citrus twist in the finish.

beer-yum (1890) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JUL 19, 2017
Massive citrus pine aroma in an amber pour. Hop forward balance with a big caramel fruit malt body and finish. Way easy drinking (dangerously so) but more like a TIPA overall. Would I have another? Yes, indeed I would!
