750mL bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out oak, lager yeast, and a bit of chocolate. Flavour reveals notes of oak, a little chocolate, and lots of lager yeast. Very lager-like, with loads of chocolate and oak. Medium complexity. Good stuff, just not really my thing. jtclockwork (16443) - , New Jersey, USA - JUL 15, 2013

Draft @ Oakquinox 2013. Black in color with a khaki head. Nose of roasted malt, dark fruits, licorice, and ash. Decent chocolate, coffee, and molasses notes. Don’t get much bourbon/barrel character. The flavor is a touch acidic. Moderate malt sweetness of caramel and molasses. Licorice, dark fruit, minimal bourbon, and some ash. Decent coffee and dark chocolate notes, too. 750 c&c from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Cork print is "Earth, Wind and Beer". Pours a nice dark brown with a 4 finger creamy darkish tan head. Aroma of very smooth dark malt with very subtle, but strong, darkish fruit. I keep thinking bourbon, then I read the description. So. Bourbon. Full bodied. Flavor is very bourbon/vanilla with lots of dark fruit and something that makes me think of the old, dry gingerbread crackers. Meanwhile the head is collapsing into degenerate, random lacing. It’s not exactly dry, but the various flavors tend to hide the malty sweetness. OMFG. JTDC. My head is expanding exponentially. Ratman197 (14674) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAY 19, 2013
750 ml corked and caged bottle poured a clear dark reddish brown with a lasting creamy brown head. Aromas of graininess, bakers cocoa, oak, light prune and light anise. Bottle at Bruce’s. It pours near black with a tiny tan head. The nose is fresh piney, toast, citrus peel, pine needles, soap and cocoa. The taste is bitter-sweet, toasty, earth, coffee, citrus peel, soap, pine and varnish. Medium and fine carbonation. Solid enough, but not a game changer. Draft. Poured a clear dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted and produced excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted coffee, dark chocolate and woody bourbon aroma. Medium to full body with a dry smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy roasted malt, bourbon flavor with a medium to heavy bourbon sweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is the good brew. argo0 (14127) - Washington DC, USA - APR 10, 2013
