6 oz draft pour at Snallygaster 2014 shared by someone. Black with off-white head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, light caramel. Tastes of caramel, cream, vanilla, chocolate, light bourbon. Medium body with a dry finish. AirForceHops (7233) - Epping, New Hampshire, USA - MAR 17, 2013
Draft @ The Ale House in Amesbury. Pitch black with lasting tan head that laced the tulip until finish. Aroma is chocolate, oak and light coffee. Taste is chocolate, vanilla and mild espresso notes. The oak is very light and subtle in this brew. Hints of molasses and sugar. Some burnt malts. Body is more on the full side with a drier smooth semi-sweet finish. It’s really good. Just falls short of being great. Well worth a try if you ask me. I would order this again in certain circumstances. PhillyCraft (7219) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 4, 2013
On tap at Bottle Bar, pours pitch black with small white head, wasn’t lasting. Aromas of roast, light chocolate, hops. Taste of plum and other dark fruits, wood, roasted malts, bourbon and a fair amount of hops. Finishes a little bitter and def warming in the body. 75cl bottle: pours a mostly opaque black with dark ruby mahogany edges and a large creamy beige froth of head that leaves fine lacing behind as it subsides. Has a sweet dark caramel and molasses nose with hints of smoke and chocolate. Starts with good fullness and fine carbonation with sweet dark caramel and chocolate malts, notes of plums and a subtle roastiness and mild noble hop bitterness before a drier smooth semi-sweet finish. Very true to style, complex and certainly drinkable. larsniclas (7070) - Billdal, SWEDEN - OCT 31, 2015
