From a 75 cl bottle shared at home on Christmas eve. Pours a clear dark cola with a tan head. Aroma of roasted nuts. Flavors of oak, vanilla, bourbon and smoke. Medium to heavy bodied, high carbonation, bitter roasty finish. AmEricanbrew (6878) - Same Trailer, Different Park, Louisiana, USA - DEC 30, 2013
@ Strong Ale Fest 2013. Clear black color with lasting tan head. Roasty, vanilla, chocolate aromas. Medium body with average co2. Weak chocolate, boozy vanilla bourbon, dark fruit flavors 5000 (6862) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - AUG 11, 2013
Bottle:   Black, moderate to large foamy dark beige head, nice lacing.   Sweet soy on the nose.   On the tongue its a soft sweet roastiness, slightly dry and chalky, with a sweet soy like background.   Little
bitterness, but also not much dark pitted fruit like I normally associate with the style.   Body and mouthfeel are smooth albeit moderate.   Quick finish, slightly ashy, roasty, but not all that sweet any more.   This one is
not as thick, sweet, or fruity as others.   If I were to have this blind I would be confused as to what it was.   Tiz okay, but not as good as I was hoping.   Ashy finish, soft roasted malts, and very soft cocoa or bakers
chocolate.   Meh... says its aged on Bourbon, I get ZERO of that.   ZZZZZzzzzz..... Braudog (6712) - Yorktown, Virginia, USA - MAY 2, 2013
As I inch up on 5000 with some stellar beers ... here’s another beauty. Dark, brooding. The aroma is pure sexuality .. rich with dark fruit, and even a little bit smoke. This is an amazing drink, as well. Full-bodied, a bit ashy, but rife with rich, roiling flavors of chocolate, raisin, rye, coffee, and any other rich, dark flavor you can think of. Brilliant. Tap. Pours a clear very dark brown body with a small Duffy dark brown head that retained as a thin film. The nose is rich and roasty with some chocolate, coffee, and licorice. A light bit of alcohol, but pretty minimal. The flavor is sweet and licorice laced with a chocolaty finish and some light roast. A slight kick of alcohol on the finish, but the sweetness really mutes it. Medium bodied and slightly sticky from the residual sweetness, soft gentle carbonation. Pretty solid Baltic Porter. One of the better beers in the Crooked Line series. ajnepple (6606) - Denver, Colorado, USA - FEB 8, 2014
750 ml corked and caged, bottled about 15 months ago and poured into my NBB globe glass, from Evergreen Discount. Black appearance with a lasting brown head, light lacing. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla, oak, toasted malts, caramel/toffee, earthy and light bourbon. Similar flavor, rich, dark, malty and lightly roasted with medium sweetness. Medium body with a creamy feel and flat carbonation. Patrickctenchi (6586) - Cox’s Knob, columbus, Indiana, USA - NOV 14, 2014
Black, with a large, foamy, dark tan head.
Chocolate wine...bourbon aroma.
Smoky, barrel and chocolate taste.
Creamy, thick chocolate malt...roasted fudge and a trace of bourbon.
Very rich...almost too sweet, but the smoke reins it back in.
Excellent. ben4321 (6503) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - JAN 26, 2013

Aroma: The nose is roasted mats, bourbon, toast, brown sugar, molasses, and a hint of chocolate
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a light brown head and some drippy lace
Flavor: It has a dry, malty flavor with plenty of roast, and noticeable but not overpowering bourbon
Palate: The body is mid-full, it has an average carbonation, mild heat, and a dry, roasty finish
This one works quite nicely. There’s noticeable bourbon in the right balance with plenty of malt. It isn’t super sweet thanks to some dry, roasty components. Overall, this one is quite good.
750 ml corked and caged bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a darker brown to black with a grayish head of foam. Decent retention. Aroma is a musky, coffee, earthy sweetness. A little ashy. Taste is more of the same. Paired nicely with a cigar that was a little past its prime.
