Aroma: The nose is roasted mats, bourbon, toast, brown sugar, molasses, and a hint of chocolate
Appearance: It pours a dark brown color with a light brown head and some drippy lace
Flavor: It has a dry, malty flavor with plenty of roast, and noticeable but not overpowering bourbon
Palate: The body is mid-full, it has an average carbonation, mild heat, and a dry, roasty finish
This one works quite nicely. There’s noticeable bourbon in the right balance with plenty of malt. It isn’t super sweet thanks to some dry, roasty components. Overall, this one is quite good.
Pours deep dark brown with a good sized dense tan head. The aroma has cocoa, roasty malt, oak, cream, dark caramel, mild duds and a nice smooth richness to it all. The body starts quite smooth with frothy carbonation and this gets a light bit rough. The flavor begins with the aroma notes, but has more bitterness to the roast, some earthy hops, cocoa, mild vanilla and cacao nibs. The finish has a touch of bourbon and a smooth warming affect. Excellent beer. luttonm (6559) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 15, 2015
Draft at Uber, Seattle. Cloudy dark brown, lingering stringy tan head. Chalky, cocoa nib, dry and bitter. Odd coffee, great dry bitter. Quite tasty. obguthr (6535) - Staunton, Virginia, USA - FEB 12, 2013
Charred oak, coffee, and prune nose, with an emphasis on the latter. Black, thin tan head. Prune and charred oak flavor, maybe some fudge. Medium bodied, smooth, and drinkable.Alcohol only noticeable on the back end and not excessive. No bourbon detected, which is a plus for me. Fairly simple, but solid.

750ml c&c bottle from Canal’s EHT. Poured a deep black body with an average sized beige foamy head. Aroma is okay, sort of dusty, notes of vanilla beans, dry chocolate powder, some chocolate swyrup, wet dark toast, burnt malts, wood and some bourbon. Palate is okay, foamy body with a medium mouthfeel. Flavor of dry chocolate, light vanilla, some wood, hint of bourbon, dry dark toast. Overall meh, expected more from Crooked Line series. nuplastikk (6373) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 17, 2015
750ml thanks to Elise. Bottled November 2013, opened February 2015..I was a little bit worried about how it would hold up. Thankfully, it has done fine. Wow. Sublime. Easy drinking for the ABV, though you know in the warm sweet aftertaste their is some respectable alcohol. Smooth chocolate tones. This is pretty much an optimum Baltic Porter, with the vanilla bourbon tones throwing it over the top. Creamy, smooth on the palate. This really hit the spot. Great beer. Doughy brown chocolate. kaser (6364) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - NOV 14, 2013
Poured from 750ml bottle. Black with tiny ring of brown head. A rich cocoa and malty flavor. Roasty and toasty taste. Mouthful indeed. Good porter dwyerpg (6286) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - APR 10, 2014
Had quite awhile back, I guess I forgot to rate it. This is a thick beer with a nice roast and bite, and not too sweet. Really quite tasty. thedm (6280) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - SEP 14, 2013
This corked and caged bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a head of foamy finely sized brown colored bubbles that were long lasting and left behind a no visible carbonation opaque dark brown colored body and an excellent lacing. The mild aroma was dark malt. The mildly vinous mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish with a biting mild roasted malt aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of black malt roasted malt wood dark malt and hops. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.
