Really great. Strong roasted malt and coffee aroma. Beautifully dark with a 1-finger tan head. Smooth and weighty palate. Flavors were big and blalanced. Earthy malt with toast, chocolate and coffee.

Top score on appearance for a very resilient beige head, pours a dark brown, almost black with mahogany edges. Nice Aroma, chocolate bars, vanilla powder, dark roast and a little booziness. Very deep in terms of flavor, heavy malts, chocolate, charred wood, hints of mint. Lasting finish. Lovely.

Bottle. Pours deep, dark brown with thick frothy beige head; good retention and lacing. Aroma is roasted and caramel malts, cocoa, earthy hops, figs, light smoke, oak, and mixed nuts. Flavor is roast malt forward with good dark fruit esters and earthy hops (light bitterness); dry, roasted finish. Medium body and low carbonation.

On tap @ Public House in Vegas. Very dark brown with mahogany highlights. Meaty broth malty nose with seductive bourbon sweetness. The palate opens sweeter than expected, given the nose: vanilla, light smoke, sweet figs, molasses, bread crusts. Made me pay attention in a good way! Awesome!

On [email protected] Tribes alehouse in Tinley Park. 13 oz. snifter. Jet black with minimal khaki head. Aromas of dominate chocolate, some candied sugar. Taste like the aroma, chocolate, slight maltiness in the middle, very smooth & drinkable. Love it. Gonna have another one. ;-)

Pours black with a tan head. Sweet molasses really stands out but also chocolate, vanilla and a hint of coffee. Not very bitter at all. Mostly sweet. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Black pour with a small foamy light tan head. Aroma has some bourbon notes with a bit of dark cocoa and a caramel notes. The flavor is rich and smooth with some sweet caramel flavors, dark cocoa, light oaked bourbon, some wood, and more caramel cocoa tones. Really tasty and big with caramel and chocolate bourbon notes.

Shared a bomber with the bro...poured murky black with thick creamy tan head that did not go away. Lots of carbonation with mild lacing. Nose is roasted malts, cocoa nibs, coffee. Taste is similar with vanilla notes and has a smooth mouthful. Bittersweet end.
