On tap, pours a hazy dark brown color with a medium tan head that leaves good lacing. Smells of bourbon, oak, chocolate, roasted malt and caramel. Tastes of the same things. Mouthfeel is slightly creamy with good carbonation. Great flavor for a barrel aged porter. Nicely balanced too. Definitely going to drink this again in the near future. Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer is served a deep brown color with a one half inch tan head. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading to leave lots of lacing on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a roasted malt smell mixed with nice aromas of chocolate and coffee. Along with these darker aromas are some notes of a caramel sweetness mixed with a little bit of a vanilla and an oaky smell.
Taste – The taste begins with roasted malt taste mixed with some sweeter tastes of caramel and a bit of light vanilla upfront. A light chocolate flavor quickly comes to the tongue with an oaky taste soon following mid way through the taste. The caramel sweetness dwindles more toward the end with the overall flavor of the brew drying out a bit as some roasted coffee and a more dark chocolate like flavor grow stronger. In the end, the roasted characteristics of the brew stand out rather well, leaving a dry and roasty flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is on the average side with a carbonation level that is rather average to slightly above average producing a very easy drinking brew, although it may possibly be a little light for accentuating the darker flavors of the brew.
Overall – A tasty and very easy drinking brew. There is almost no detectable alcohol taste even at 8 % abv. The nice roasted malt and drier finish of the brew make this one a quite delicious and a dangerous brew. Quite nice.

750ml thanks to Elise. Bottled November 2013, opened February 2015..I was a little bit worried about how it would hold up. Thankfully, it has done fine. Wow. Sublime. Easy drinking for the ABV, though you know in the warm sweet aftertaste their is some respectable alcohol. Smooth chocolate tones. This is pretty much an optimum Baltic Porter, with the vanilla bourbon tones throwing it over the top. Creamy, smooth on the palate. This really hit the spot. Great beer. Doughy brown chocolate. Almost black beer with brown hues and a medium, brown head. Strong aromas of cocoa and some booze. Tastes of roasted coffee, sweet dark chocolate, molasses, and hints of bourbon-like flavoring. Earthy and chewy mouth feel. Finish is of bitter cocoa. A bit smoky too. Very tasty and surprisingly easy to drink. BrewMstr (194) - Pleasant View, Utah, USA - SEP 10, 2015
Bottle from the brewery, cellared two years. Awesome black color with thick tan foam. Porter front taste then chocolate with the oak and vanilla finish. Very smooth!

Black pour with a khaki head. nose is heavy chocolate, sweet, light vanilla and fruit. Great palate, smooth vanilla, light alcohol, sweet, sticky, and coffee notes. boFNjackson (4230) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JAN 5, 2013
Bottle @ The BeerMongers on New Years Eve... Poured deep, jet black with a easy forming, eggy, off-white head. A nice drinking Baltic Porter. Smooth, clean, well rounded. Not too cloying or thick of a mouthfeel. Nice notes of cherries and other dark fruits with vanilla, worty malts, caramel cream, and a faint oak booziness. Not too oaky or woody. Definitely seemed to have been blended out a bit. A great beer. If it was about $2-3 cheaper it would make for a great buy. pdx77 (1483) - Oregon, USA - JAN 5, 2013
On draught at Roscoe’s. Deep dark porter almost feels like a stout. Barrel aging imparts rich boozy aftertaste.
