(Bottle) Dark brown colour, almost black, with hints of ruby when seen through light. Frothy beige head, leaving traces of lacing. Malty, roasted nose with liquorice, coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla, black rye bread, plums, a touch of oak wood and slightly herbal aromas. Malty, roasted taste with notes of liquorice, cacao, black rye bread, coffee, plums, some oak wood, vanilla, a touch of mint and a balanced cacao bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty, clean and well balanced Baltic porter. Very nice. BrewNet (13) - San Ramon, California, USA - SEP 2, 2017
UPDATED: SEP 2, 2017 Vinous aroma, deep red-brown color, creamy tan head, taste ends in dry leather flavor, faint chocolate & coffee along the way, looking for smoked ham character but not present. Delicious, but not quite a classic Baltic Porter HogTownHarry (7466) - Toronto (Harbourfront), CANADA - AUG 1, 2017
August 27, 2015 - with blankboy, jercraigs, mabel and guests. 750ml bottle. Deep brick red with a large thick plug of lasting creamy pancake batter tan head. Aroma is alcohol, sweet minty floral bitterness, quite herbal with fairly mild roast and some tartness. Simple taste - not all that sweet, quite herbal, with coffee. Decent body and carbonation, dry coffee ground finish. Like it - not over the top, not sweet. snoworsummer (6589) - baltimore, Maryland, USA - DEC 9, 2016
Bottle from the brewery. Pours dark brown with a bubbly, frothy beige head. Tastes like chocolate malt, burnt toast, roasted coffee, and creamy with a hint of dried fruits. Light/medium body and low carbonation. Smells like chocolate malt, burnt toast, roasted coffee, dried fruits, and chocolate syrup. GarrettB (1746) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 25, 2016
August 25th, 2014 - Uinta’s looks like beef in a bottle. As I pour it, I accidentally utter "Oof, this looks beefy", both a comment on its muscular stature and the dark, brown color of the body and the slightly lighter color of the head. The aroma is extra creamy, giving off hints of steak sauce and soy sauce (notably, not teriyaki sauce), with hazelnut and nutella for sweetness. I go in again once the foam settles, but catch mostly the same, though richer, and clearer. I deliberately served it on the warmer side, which allows the flavor to deploy into action immediately. The alcohol burns bright, but settles once the hazelnut flavor comes into play. I also catch the flavor of virginia pipe tobacco, and in the aftertaste, a long, deep, festive flavor of roasted chestnut. It’s a heavy beer, and definitely on the boozy side, which detracts from some of the potential for complexity, but some reappears near the bottom of the glass. The aftertaste adds some licorice and anise, a nice spicy finish, and a clean way to end a powerful, potent beer.

Back Log. I couldn’t for the life of me remember what this beer was called when I drank it, but out of no where, bam Sea Legs. That’s what happens with age. Nice notes of bitter chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. A solid Baltic porter. mar (5502) - Dallas, Texas, USA - JUL 23, 2016
Black pour with a khaki head. nose is heavy chocolate, sweet, light vanilla and fruit. Great palate, smooth vanilla, light alcohol, sweet, sticky, and coffee notes. Andrew196 (2076) - Katy, Texas, USA - MAY 28, 2016
Top score on appearance for a very resilient beige head, pours a dark brown, almost black with mahogany edges. Nice Aroma, chocolate bars, vanilla powder, dark roast and a little booziness. Very deep in terms of flavor, heavy malts, chocolate, charred wood, hints of mint. Lasting finish. Lovely. oldrtybastrd (5003) - Fort Walton Beach, Florida, USA - APR 13, 2016
