Pours a bronze color with a booming off-white head that sheds some thick lacing. The aroma smells bready, medicinal, and somewhat zesty, with orange blossom, lemon scented dishwashing detergent, flowers, saaz hops, cough drops. This is smoother than expected, or as the aroma suggests. The medicinal notes, which are strong in the scent seem to take a back seat here but don’t completely disappear. Lots of sweet bread, herbal hops, and some caramel flavors noted. Perhaps sweet hay and grass too. After buying this, I see that the bottle is a little old. Maybe not a bad thing if it’s toned down. A bit dry and bitter in the finish but the sweetness prevails. Could stand to be lower in alcohol but I generally feel that way about any Pilsner approaching 7% or so. Not a bad beer though, just not one I’ll need to revisit. coldbrewky (1730) - Hippetown East, New York, USA - SEP 21, 2010
750 ml Corked and caged from my rip and run. Pours a honey gold with a slight chill haze (my bad). Thin pimply head, bright dense lacing all supplied by relaxed carbonation. Nose of Bohemian lager...grassy malts with some musty funk and the normal skunk. Latent heat and malt complexity along with a light lemon tone bring me to reminisce of some light radlers I had in Karlovy Vary. Body moves in gentle waves from moderate to full to a light easy finish. Alcohol is subdued. Barreras (1689) - Diamond Bar, California, USA - DEC 28, 2011
Pours a golden color with aroma of honey and creamy butter. Taste is light for such high alcohol content. Flavor of mango, banana and grass. Overall, an enjoyable beer. JHeath99 (1679) - Warner Robins, Georgia, USA - JUN 25, 2014
Bottle from Carriage Hills. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a thin ring of off white head. Aroma of malts and grass. Taste of caramel and bread. jsmerig (1622) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 5, 2011
Nice bohemian pils aroma. Pours golden yellow. Stong but nicely balanced with a sweet start and a nice bitter dry finish. Overall a nice version of a classic style

On tap @ Chuck’s 85th. Pours translucent golden with thin lasting head. Aroma is light hops and some corn. Taste is thin, earthy hops that lead to a bitter finish. Malt flavors are big but muddled and ultimately overwhelmed by the alcohol, which is obvious. Harsh. Different but not easy to drink. ApisAles (1575) - Greenbelt, Maryland, USA - AUG 27, 2010
Dark golden pour with a light white head. Aroma is grassy, sweet malt, corn. Flavor is citrus, sweet, lemon. Weird citrus. Way to sweet. Ok, but unimpressive. Dixonian (1562) - Plano, Texas, USA - JAN 21, 2011
750ml bottle - thanks to bu11zeye.
Pours golden yellow. Not much in the aroma department - slight saaz hop tinge. Metalic. I expected a lot more flavor out of an imperial pilsner. Disappointing. mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - OCT 17, 2014
Enjoyably tasty. Not a lot of complexity here. Not overly carbonated. Heavy mouthfeel, cloyingly sweet malt flavor. But I enjoy it. ABV well hidden. potbeerjob (1343) - Denver, Colorado, USA - AUG 3, 2010
Bomber. Fizzy bubbly white head with yellow orange body. Aroma is hop floral and spices, maybe some apple juice. and honey. Flavor follows suite with some more AJ and some big floral and fruit hop. Big but easy. A great offering.
