4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
750 ml corked and caged bottle. Bottled 1/4/13. Pours almost clear copper with a large off-white head with excellent retention; leaves behind decorative lacework. Aroma is doughy, lemony, biscuity, caramelly. Taste is lightly sweet before turning bitter mid-palate and remaining that way through the somewhat long finish. Has the nice bready flavor that I look for in this style, along with a strong hop counterpoint. Alcohol is noticeable, but it’s not boozy--always a plus. Has a creamy mouthfeel; fairly big body, soft carbonation. I like me a good Imperial Pils, and this is one.
Pours a deep golden yellow. Nice aromas of hops/citrus/peppery. Nice hoppy flavor, spicy/pepper, alcohol shows up in the back end. chinchill (5340) - South Carolina, USA - DEC 21, 2015
750 ml cork and wired topped bottle served in a pint glass. voyageurmike (512) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 15, 2015
This is a boozy, relatively malty pilsner that gives the impression of a cross between a pilsner and a barleywine.
It’s also quite sweet for a pilsner, although not at all cloying or overly sweet. The hazy apricot body doesn’t look like a typical pilsner either, and the head and lacing are poor by pilsner standards.
Mouthfeel: medium-full body with medium carbonation and some heat from the alcohol.
Pale gold and clear with white head and hops nose. Full bodied, grainy flavor with mildly bitter hops finish. Nothing outstanding but fine with a pizza. seehaferb23 (285) - - MAY 21, 2015
The last beer of the night -a nice finish for the night. This beer cost $13.39. Cheers!

Pours clear orange gold with a huge, billowing white head that maintains and leaves nice lacing, pronounced bubbles in the glass. Aroma of grass, hay, grain, slight nuts, sweet pale malt, somewhat fruity (cantaloupe?). Has a bit of a grainy, cereal flavor and is a bit too sweet, but the copious noble hops balance the sweetness overall. Not as highly carbonated on the tongue as it looks. Overall pretty good, easy to drink for such high abv. ABUSEDGOAT (2870) - California, USA - OCT 26, 2014
Clear golden, moderate to large head, decent lace/retention. Aroma is grass, grain, cereal, bread, light alcohol. Medium bodied, straightforward and quite drinkable. mikedR (1561) - Gilbert, Arizona, USA - OCT 17, 2014
Enjoyably tasty. Not a lot of complexity here. Not overly carbonated. Heavy mouthfeel, cloyingly sweet malt flavor. But I enjoy it. ABV well hidden. stevoj (5638) - Boise, Idaho, USA - SEP 30, 2014
A mixture of good and bad elements. Good: slick, syrupy body, nice alcohol warmth on the finish, Bad: Overly cereal grain aroma and taste. See Lagunitas Scare City fro a good imperial pils. slowrunner77 (12994) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 23, 2014
Not too shabby. A little darker, thicker, and sweeter than expected, with a heavy grain presence and a slightly lighter than expected grassy hop bite. Good beer, not a good deal."
