COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Cutthroat Trout is the state fish of Utah and believed to be named after Cutthroat Pale Ale, Utah’s most popular craft brewed beer. (Ok, it is the other way around.) Uinta’s flagship beer, Cutthroat Pale Ale is a traditional Northwest American Style Pale Ale. The Cutthroat trout is a species of freshwater fish native to western North America, and more specifically to the Great Basin and Rocky Mountain regions. The Bonneville Cutthroat trout is a subspecies, native to Utah and named after Lake Bonneville, a prehistoric pluvial lake that covered much of present day Utah. The Great Salt Lake and Utah Lake are two remnants of Lake Bonneville. Today, Cutthroat trout is the game fish of the west and Cutthroat Pale Ale the catch of the day!

Biscuits-N-Pine: The Beer. Pretty much as bland a pale ale as you can find, slightly sweet biscuit malt playing off of piney, moderately bitter hops. Slight citrus undertone, yet nothing really of note. Feel is thin and watery, and the nose comes across closer to an amber ale. A good craft beer for somebody who doesn’t like craft beer.

Can. Pours a rusty amber pour with a beige head . Nose is hoppy with softer resin and pine. Taste is mildly bitter with softer pine and resin and not much else. Finishes on the sam tasting notes ! Have had better pale ales ! Quaff Score 6 / 10

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured golden amber, off white foamy head, nice lacing. Aroma of Caramel, biscuit and some hops (Pine). Citrus taste, nice bitterness, combined with bread/biscuit notes and some malt. Solid, quite easy to drink and very enjoyable. Not Bad at all.

Type: 25-oz. draft Glass: Clear mug From: Firehouse Pizzeria in Logan, Utah Price: $5.00 Purchased: Oct. 27, 2016 Consumed: Oct. 27, 2016 Reviewed as: American Pale Ale Misc.: N/A Had this before and gave it a 3.50 on Untappd. Got to try it again on a work trip to Logan, Utah. Poured a copper amber clear color with two fingers of frothy-to-rocky white head when I got it. Some bubbles coming up from the bottom of the glass. World-class circular foamy lacing. World-class retention. (Sight - 4.25) Smelled more malty on the nose than hoppy. Got rye, caramel, toffee, lemon, peach, light woody notes and nuttiness. (Smell - 3.75) Taste followed the nose somewhat. Very dry. Not quite as good as the smell now that I think about it. Malty, earthy rye, lemon zest, caramel, toffee and dry peach. (Taste - 3.50) Light body. Oily texture. Average carbonation. Long, citrusy finish. (Feel - 3.50) A tad overwhelmed overall. I think I overrated this one a bit. Logan, Utah, you know? Malty, sweet, caramel and nuts. A distinct hops comes through into the finish. Not horrible, not a standout.

Bottled. Not much aroma. The plate is full body and sticky. The big floral hop taste. Not much other than that.

I did not like this and I am a big fan of anything Uinta. Not hoppy enough, off flavors, almost like a pilsner, but not even a good one of those. I do not recommend this.
