Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. Its balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

On tap. Semi-glowing copper color with a white. Bitter pine and dry malt in the aroma. Taste is clean bitter hops with pine. Dry malt backbone. No tropical fruit. Clean, lightly gritty mouthfeel. Solid IPA.

On tap at Barracuda Tavern, Boston. Nose of soapy hops, some fresh pine. Standard IPA look of dark amber. A little astringent, perhaps some detergent in the palate, but nice citrus flavours and a sweetish clean aftertaste. Taste more mellow fruit than pine, with a touch of honey detectable. Thought all American IPAs were beginning to taste the same to me, but this was a nice change up. Solid stuff

Bottle pour. Clean gold-amber in glass with a thick, off-white head. Nose is reserved: earthy, basement notes with mellowed hops, some orange rind. Very nice, I just wish more pronounced. Taste picks up the slack. The subtle orange from the nose is in full force, along with a robust, grainy earthiness. A good helping of sugar cookies in the middle. Ends bitter. A worthy export.

Good but these day an IPA by any other name is... well... an IPA. Good but there are SO many available.

UPDATED: NOV 15, 2015 A really great India Pale Ale, hailing from Salt Lake City, Utah. It could be a contender. Re-rating: Sampled at the McKenzie Cider and Craft Beer Festival, November 14th, 2015.

Bottle - cloudy orange pour, strong aroma and taste of pine with some sweetness mixed in. Slightly metallic on the finish.

I like this beer. Its not extreme, but it certainly is an IPA (unlike some of the INO brews that Ive had lately) and it is certainly tasty. Nice look to it, a golden bronze body with a creamy and sustained two-finger head. The aroma has a nice hop spiciness to it, predominantly citrus and zest with a touch of grasses and floral scents. A mild pale malt sweetness seeps through the head once in a while. The mouthfeel is soft and creamy, adding a smooth drinkability. The flavor begins with a soft sweetness, soon joined by citrusy flavors and a steady, although not overpowering bitterness. That hop bite lasts into a prolonged dy finish. Nice. Ive had a few tasty brews from Uinta, and Im glad to see that some are now available in the Chicago area.

The beer to end all beers. Its opaque copper patina color and foamy white head should never be seen because this beer comes in a can like all beer should. Its aroma is earthy stink. Its flavor is malty, bubbling and bitter. Plenty of nuttiness. Satisfetcho desde ahora.

Pours a very nice golden color. Citrus on the nose with some grassy pine notes. Malty on the finish, with the same citrus and grass upfront. A very nice example of the style.

Amber color and thick with citrus hops. This is an excellent IPA and with lots of malts for that high ABV then overly hopped to keep it bitter. Only complaint is that slight metalic aftertaste. Many say the can doesnt cause that but when putting this high acidic brew in a can I sitll say it creates a metallic taste. Sad to see so many brewers going the way of the can.
