Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. Its balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

Clear deep golden color with thick creamy white head. Aroma is bright pine and citrus hops. Taste is crisp dank piney resin upfront with some grapefruit bitter citrus on the follow through with a touch of malty sweetness for balance. Aftertaste is lingering bitterness of resinous pine and citrus. Palate is somewhat sticky and resinous. Overall a nice balanced and refreshing IPA.

Had a few bottles at The Brick in Milledgeville,Ga Nice beer with that bitterness required for a good IPA Real dry aftertaste which is great. Hold your nose though.

Pours a clear dark amber with a massive white head. Aroma of pine. Absolutely delicious. Hoppy bitterness but lots of sweet malt also. A little high in alcohol, but one of the best beers Ive had in a while.

I poured a 12oz bottle into a tulip glass. It had a best before date of 9/28/13 and cost $2.50 ($0.21 per ounce).

Appearance: Dark orange color, fairly clear but with a slight haze. Forms a large, white, frothy head which laces and retains very well.

Smell: Slightly dank, resiny character with minor "cat pee" scent and citrus juice concentrate.

Taste: I like it when breweries make beers that dont conform to their regional sub-styles. Uinta is out of Utah, but Hop Notch IPA drinks like a strong East Coast-style IPA with its resin and pine character. While there is some citrus component to it, its not the star of the show as would be the case in, say, a San Diego-style IPA. Its extremely bitter throughout, but balanced enough to keep the hops from becoming cloying.

Whats funny about this beer is that while it smells dank and sticky, the actual bitterness itself is rather dry. Its almost equally strong from the beginning to the end of the swig, though there is a noticeable peak at the apex. Through the middle of the tongue theres a constant liquid pine flavor, though I wouldnt consider it "Earthy" per se, and certainly not spicy. Theres some malty sweetness as well, giving the beer a dense palette rather than anything crisp or juicy. I do get mild orange flavor on the finish, which changes things up and keeps it consistently interesting. While the hops do linger a bit, they dont fatigue me, nor is there any syrupy sensation. Satisfying and enjoyable throughout.

Drinkability: Hop Notch IPA falls into that tiny void where its neither crisp nor sticky. The mouthfeel is soft, but not creamy. The beer is intense across the tongue, but finishes fairly clean. Its easy to sip or gulp. At 7.3% ABV its a pretty weighty brew, and it certainly takes advantage of its size, yet one serving is not overwhelming. Probably best enjoyed one bottle at a time, though.

Bottle. Fairly enjoyable IPA, but nothing I would come back to. Just doesn't stand out in a flooded IPA market.

Pours a vibrant golden amber color. Smells floral and hoppy. Hop flavor is not very pronounced. Good average beer.

pours a clear amber with a just off white head. Aromas of some baby diapers and cat piss. Taste is bitter with some sweetness as well. Pretty well balanced... the hopiness is completely inline with the sweet bready malt. the malt is fat (stole that line from pinkie). finishes pretty spicy with a small hop bite and some residual sugar. pretty ok.

I cracked open a bottle of Uinta Hop Notch I picked up from Sugaya for maybe 5-600 yen. 7.3% Lovely classic IPA golden amber color with a great aroma of fruits, hint of grape, mild funk, very appetizing. Great flavor, fruity & rich at first with a sparkling mouthfeel. Then followed by a clean piney sweet finish & a great aftertaste. Not bitter at all beyond a fleeting hint of bitter pine near the end. Rich, complex, definitely a top shelf IPA!

Drank of a 12 oz bottle at the Eulogy Belgian Tavern in Old Philly on June 19, 2013. Golden honey, medium head. Hoppy aroma sweet herbs, very soft. Taste quite the same, notes of dry citrus bitterness is dry too. Its pretty good!
