Formerly known as Hop Notch. Wonderful complex flavos, like no other, simply a great tasting IPA. It’s balanced, strong malt backbone, citrusy nose, with hints of pine and grass.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2013 Pours a murky amber with a slight white head and oodles of lacing. Citrusy resiny west coast classic nose. Flavors of orange, pine and bong water. Medium bodied with a long hoppy, but not overly bitter, finish. A fine single IPA.

Nice big hoppy aroma when the cap is popped. Primarily a peppery bitterness that lingers for a bit before departing. I was halfway done before I’d even realized it.

UPDATED: FEB 15, 2014 Amazingly outstanding IPA! Hop Notch pours a very dark golden color with a beautiful off-white, cascading head. The nose is very inviting, with notes of spicy and floral hops, pine, grass, sweet malts and a touch of lemon. The flavors are very well-balanced and delicious, and the body is smooth, creamy and extremely drinkable. This is one of those IPA’s that I could sit hang with all night. Notes from the flavor include dry hops, grass, lightly toasted bread, grapefruit, lemon, pine and a touch of sweet malt. The finish is dry and spicy.

Aroma of hops and grassiness. Light and crisp, full of hops. Citrus zest, a touch of malt, spice, and earthiness. A bit buttery in the finish. Some flavors remind me of an ESB.

Hop nosh is a brassy hazy beer with a fine head of small white bubbles. the Aroma is of floral hops and a bit of natural sweetness. Taste is more natural sweetness on the front with a bit of hop bite. The body is fluid and lively. a very nice beer.

Grass and earthy hop aroma with a minor citrus hop hint in the back. Orange aroma comes out as it warms. Biscuity malt. Pours a clear orange with a full white head. Flavor leans toward a balance of citrus and sourdough bread malt. Moderate high bitterness and a sweet finish. As it warms, some alcohol warmth starts to show. Overall, a little underwhelming and not robust.

Poured a medium orange with a fluffy, lively head. Soft nose go grassy hops. Pleasant in the mouth with nice malt balancing the hops.

Pours clear reddish orange with a white head. Aroma is citrus, pine and florals. Taste is bittersweet with the bitters lasting throughout. Light mouthfeel with a crisp refreshing finish.

UPDATED: FEB 29, 2012 On tap in DC at Kramerbooks Cafe. Cloudy amber pour. Nose holds decent grapefruit, lemon, pine, and earthy hop on the nose, but the flavor tastes too oxidized, with heavy malt presence. Unfortunate, really not impressed. Rerate- draft at Churchkey. Much better, with more lean west coast style hop bitterness with pine sap and touches of white grapefruit. A definite improvement, less oxidation this time around.
