This medium-bodied golden ale is brewed with local wildflower honey. Full-flavored beer. Rich. Robust. Bittersweet beginning. Quickly mellows, leaving the palate with a subtle hint of honey. Hive pairs well with cedar-plank salmon, and, if you have a sweet tooth, baklava.

[March 2014] (like an illiterate fool I accidentally entered this under Wyld.)
12 oz. bottle best before June 3, 2014 from Chamber’s Liquor. Pours a crystalline copper with a tall white head. The nose is very clean and balanced. Pretty impressed with the clarity of aromas here. There is natural honey, earthy Euro-type hopping and light notes of barley. The flavor is pretty crisp with a pleasant, woody, papery hop bite that just peaks out a little beyond the natural honey sweetness. This is definitely not something I would drink often, but for a sessionable honey golden ale, this is about as good as it can get.

Pours a light amber color. Aromas of grains/corn?/some hops. Flavor is kind of bitter, some malt. I expected more.

12 oz. bottle from Pacific Liquor. Pour is nearly all foam until it settles down to a light amber with an abundant white head that maintains and leaves lacing. Aroma is of dark honey, floral, heather, a bit grassy. Taste is quite dry and bitter, somewhat sour...this could be an old bottle. Has a sour tinge to the aftertaste. Very dry and thin, a thirst quencher. Decent honey brew but average at best.

Out of a bottle nearby Utah. I found this batch to be quite sharp and bitter. The honey smell is evident. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Tallahassee, Fl - Whole Foods Market - on tap. Sparkling, medium golden pour, silky soft snow white head. Neutral aroma, touch of grain perhaps. Subtle sweetness, hints of honey, some light nuttiness, a touch of grain. Crisp mouthfeel. Nice way to break up the Christmas shopping routine.

Bottle from Beer and Wne. Nice light, hazy amber body with medium head. Nose is floral, honey, hoppy. Taste is skunky, peppery, a bit of honey but more in the finish. Not very sweet. A rather subdued affair.

Pours light amber with filmy off-white head. Aroma is yeasty with mild sweet fruit. Flavor is light with a floral carbonated bite that is rounded out with sweet hints of honey but still leaves something to be desired.

madvike (3280) - Middleton, Wisconsin, USA - APR 8, 2015
Bottle - Golden amber pour with a thin off-white head. Nose is sweet honey and lightly toasted, doughy malt. Light herbal hoppiness. Taste is the same, with lots of honey, lightly bitter sweet dough malt, a hint of toastiness, and a light herbal finish. More honey on the long finish. Slick and bigger bodied than I thought it would be. Not bad!
